NYC Miscers GTFI!

What's the deal with domestic travel restrictions?

I wanna travel to NYC for a family get away from FL, but they want us to quarantine for 3 or 4 days upon arrival, take a test at the end of the quarantine days and only be allowed outside if test is negative, wtf.

How are authorities enforcing this chit?

Reps for legit answers.

Miscer above me has it right, fly into EWR to avoid JFK/LGA. Another miscer has is right as well, why NYC? I was there a couple of months ago and the place is a bigger POS than it normally is. Nothing fun is open, majority of the population still stricken with covid fears, more crime than ever, ect. If you are just trying to see the sights, I guess its a good time to go but Im pretty sure that the majority of the big tourist spots are closed or running at very little capacity.

The city (Manhattan) ain't any safer brah. If anything, it's worse.

Anyways, here's the rules. Whetehr it's enforced or not, nobody knows. If you're lucky, nobody will approach you. If not, prepare to spread your @ss and get anally swabbed.

NYC Travel Restrictions
Governor Cuomo has announced that beginning April 1, quarantine periods for domestic travelers entering the state will no longer be required (though it remains recommended, and completing the traveler form mentioned below will remain a requirement). For now, travelers from out of state—except for those coming from New York's contiguous states, which are New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont—and from Level 2 or 3 Travel Health Notice countries must test negative for the coronavirus within three days before their departure from their home state or country. Once staying in New York, travelers must quarantine for three days, then take another Covid-19 test on the fourth day. If the test is negative, the traveler no longer has to remain in quarantine. Travelers who choose not to be tested must remain in quarantine for 10 days though should continue to monitor for symptoms for another four days. Domestic travelers who have been fully vaccinated will not have to quarantine or test out within 90 days of their vaccination.

New Yorkers who leave the state for 24 hours or less must be tested within four days of returning to New York State. The contiguous states are exempt from this rule as well, though Governor Cuomo has discouraged nonessential travel to and from these neighboring states due to their increased infection rates.

The City and Sheriff's Office have implemented checkpoints at various points of arrival into the City to remind travelers and ensure compliance. The Mayor has ordered that hotels and short-term rentals require guests from restricted states to fill out a traveler health form before beginning their stay. The Governor has issued an executive order reminder international travelers from moderate- or high-risk countries of their obligations to quarantine and fill out the form. repped all you guys, thanks for the feedback.

We are taking advantage that hotels are almost giving away the rooms and flights are dirt cheap. Money is not an object, but the other couple we're traveling with is on a budget and the idea of a NYC not packed everywhere we go sounds nice. Also, seems like everything is opening up.
