functional strength
or discipline and consistency

(powerlifting vs strongman vs bodybuilding) theres nothing in the world like bodybuilding as far as insane discipline and body manipulation, there are no overall functionally stronger people than the strongest strongmen, and there are no more powerful explosively people than power lifters.

not a bad point but chess is kind of limited if you think about it, i actually think something like Dota 2 is actually much more demanding, brb coordinating the chaos of a game with 9 other players, near limitless variables and regularly updated rules to keep things fresh, reaction timings, strategic thinking etc. etc. some of these e-sports players are high IQ dedicated sportsmen srs

Just like how western africans are better adapted to sprinting, eastern africans are better adapted to long distance running, northern europeans are likely just better adapted to strength (and size)

agreed, and i didn't know there was a name for north vs. south size differences, i've noted northerners tend to be a lot taller and more robust than southerners, you can see it quite clearly for example with chinese people, and it seems to make sense too with the image we hold of, say, vikings

Strongman is the most alpha sport. There is never a contest where someone doesn't get a serious injury. Dudes lifting huge weights and also carrying or running with it. Tests absolute strength and speed and endurance and mental fortitude like nothing else. At the high levels, you generally have to be 6"+ and 300+ just to be competitive.

I think Wrestling (look up Alesksandr Karelin), Football (just because of the speed and power involved), and Strongman are some of the most Alpha sports.
