Because I would prefer to take my chances on potentially getting it, having any symptoms, having significant symptoms over taking medication to protect me from something I am not concerned about getting.

I do a lot of irrational things when it comes to health - I eat eggs and red meat almost everyday, I am trying to gain weight, I put a lot of stress on my joints with training, etc

The phase 3 trials are still ongoing. Initial endpoint review was what took place for emergency approval. I think in general the different phase 2/3 trials are continuing for another couple years. This information would probably be posted on clincialtrials.gov

There isn't really a 'long term' trial and an individual phase 3 trial would is most cases be a few years long. Its not something you run for a decade.

Pat, I'm healthy, not overweight, I have no illnesses. I eat well and exercise regularly. Not young but not in a high risk age group. I also believe I've already had the virus (although I tested negative; family members lost taste, experienced tiredness, allergy-like symptoms. I also got tired, lethargic, allergy-like symptoms at the same time; lasted about a week for me).

I also have health insurance and the finances that if I were to die suddenly for any reason, it would get taken care of.

What do you think of my position that I feel, for me, I have no interest in getting a vaccine at this time.

I'm not speaking for any other person but myself, but in my case - I feel like the coronavirus is not a great threat to me personally.

a) I am not in an at-risk group and b) very likely already had it - both of which lead me to be less concerned with being exposed to it or possibly getting the virus in the future.

In my specific case: What are your thoughts? Am I an idiot? Am I irresponsible? Is my decision hurting you or anyone else? Am I causing the lockdown to go on longer somehow?

People that "don't mind" getting covid are increasing the net amount of cases - and that increases the opportunity for mutated versions of virus to spread.....and the variants might not be impeded by the vaccines most people are getting. So anti-vaxxers could be putting them at risk.
