I like the classic cube guy, you get a better yield 4 vs 2 spheres. I got the True Cubes from Amazon.

I’m concerned if it would clear up? Usually coconut water has a little tinge of color, hazy.

Why go through this?

Slower melting ice srs. Cleaner tasting cubes, no impurities.

My main reason, aesthetics. Can’t go back now boyos

it doesn't. it is an old wives tale, given the same water one hot one cold, the cold will freeze sooner. but the difference wont be that big because the energy removed to go from 0 deg water to 0 deg ice is greater than energy that is removed to go from ~80 to zero degrees

Lol thanks, it’s satisfying to tinker and test different methods so I guess it counts as a hobby.

Mpemba effect has been studied and it is not a repeatable phenomenon, therefore not real. but ice freezing although seemingly simple is pretty complex phenomenon, i dont claim to understand it.

but if you are experiencing that your hot water freezes sooner, i would think it is simply because of how freezers operate. you put in hot water, drops the freezer temp and the compressor kicks on, and it starts to blow cold air into the freezer, this will cool the water much quicker compared to putting in cold water that just sits in still cold air without the compressor kicking on.
