Same reason why people buy energy drinks, alcohol, and ciggs.

It's intended purpose was a smoking cessation device. It worked extremely well for that, Big Pharma is losing big dollars on their own smoking cessation products.

Big Pharma lobbies the fuk out of local politicians to raise taxes/ban vaping.

banning flavored vapes, new law basically not allowing vapes to be shipped (super weird chit, look into bill that just passed), and stuff like this just shows how entrenched corporate interests are in our society (in this case big tobacco).

Corrupt as fuk.

I mean at least drinks give you something, vaping is better than smoking cigs I guess but not as addictive so why can't you just stop? I thought it was a fad for teenagers but adults need to vape too?

But big tobacco's been getting rekt for decades, at least in America, the effectiveness of the anti smoking campaign, taxes, awareness of the dangers, restricting smoking in public/private places, banning marketing etc. is the reason Americans are not filthy chain smokers like you see everywhere else in the world.

Drinks get you drunk.

Nicotine has it's own effect, similar to caffeine, mental boost and head rush. Both are addictive.

Adults needing vape is very similar to adults needing their coffee/energy drink

Vaping hasn't been around long enough to know the long term effects. The cancer rate might end up being the same as cigarettes.

Wrong... effects of vaping have been studied A LOT.

People have been vaping for nearly 2 decades now. And the vape aerosol has been HEAVILY tested with modern day science.

IE: we know what chemicals cause cancer. we know the vape aerosol does not cause cancer.

The Royal College of Physicians and Public Health England are responsible for the LONGEST study on vaping in the world. They concluded that vaping was 95% less risky than cigarettes, and put vape shops in their hospitals to encourage smokers to switch to vaping.

They have a public health system, cigarette smokers are a huge drain on that system. Vaping is NOT.

just from personal experience, my dad smoked cigs for like 30 years. then he started vaping for about 5 years then get off of it entirely. even if vaping is dangerous, surely it isn't more dangerous than literally inhaling smoke and tar into your lungs.

Politicians are more addicted to the sin taxes than smokers and vapors are to nicotine.

thats not the study you were asking for, i gotta look around more for it. but that report is obviously pro vaping.

But the general idea in the UK is: In our current society, smokers are a huge cost burden. We can't make them stop smoking, but we can promote a safer alternative, vaping.

Here in the USA the general idea is: ban vaping, smokers can continue as is.

Why? Public vs Private health care systems. That's all it is, politics.
