yeah have heard of the hydrogen cells years ago. never knew they produced a working engine

only issue with EV is the cost of the materials used to make batteries. and those materials are finite which defeats the purpose of an eco friendly and sustainable energy source.

Well dividends are what you should be looking at - at your age - getting steady flows of income has limited effect on your taxable income as you aren't at maximum earnings.

Reinvest those dividends in various stocks you believe will last a long time and don't focus on 'growth' with these types of activities but yields. Inflation will typically grow these boomer stocks.

I typically take dividends from one that is high and plow it into 'beat up versions' of similiar stocks.

That doesn't mean you /can't/ sell them - go-ahead and sell them and invest them something beat up at some point if they're 'too high' stocks follow cycles and ebb and flow - looking at 104 and 52 week averages is often a strong indication of utility stocks and their over-value or under-value nature.

Poorer dividend, more debt than T. Though I do understand hedging between the two.

With you on LUMN, have also been looking into Aqua, but think there's better places to throw my excess atm.

You have to have a hell of a lot invested before you pay any noticeable tax on qualified dividends, and even then it's capped at 20% so there's logic here.

I'm way long in TSLA -- TSLA is going to be dominate in the market for at least 50 years. Elon will eventually sell the company to someone else and focus on other things for sure but they have just such a lead on other groups.

Ford I anticipate will go straight and GM might buy the organs of the corpse but unlikely.

Most Euro companies don't hold a torch to TSLA and are triple and quadruple the price to value ratio - no way they can compete without tariffs and patriots.

Japanese and Korean makers aren't teaming with MSFT/APLE to compete with TSLA and they should be they're behind the eight ball too but have strong governments to prop them up so they'll survive but be much more limited.

GM will probably get bailed out through corruption but they are way behind TSLA too. Having cute commercials doesn't equate to having a viable competitive product.

You know how volatile the automotive industry is right? You're fully aware how many Teslas have come and gone?

Ford survived everything, even 2009 when GM went pop. They have massive cash reserves and are headed by people who actually know what they're doing. Ford will be fine.

I don't see what you see for Ford - I see Ford offshoring (like they are now) to mexico and then dealing with what GM dealt with and BMW is dealing with now with their new factories in Mexico as they learn how Socialist Mexico really is and how bad of an idea this is - Ford is dying though. They were something in 90's but they're probably the worst car maker in the US right now next to Kia.

Dominate the truck market in the US, just retooled all of their factories globally, have a solid plan to phase in EVs, global brand, factories on every continent, history of stability.

https://www.tesla.com/cybertruck--- this is real and I've actually seen it in LA.

Even if Ford does get their EV F-150 out the door it won't compete with TSLA on price. Fleet stocks are often discounted too as you're buying them in mass.

The Ford EV is speculated at 70,000 and the Cyber truck has options of 35,000-70,000. Is Ford going to be able to cut their price in half? Probably not they're just not as amazing as TSLA at engineering and automation otherwise they wouldn't have lost this race so badly.

So, the question becomes how much profit will they make if they can sell any at all with non-competitive price scaling?

Most people can't afford 70,000 in a vehicle to begin with. My first truck was a Tacoma and I paid 15,000 for it. I love my truck and still own it and it works just fine. I can't see myself shelling 70,000 for a vehicle though, like, ever. Are middle-americans who primarily are the ones buying Ford products going to be able to shell out the price of half a house in Texas/Alabama/Arkansas/Oklahoma? I am doubtful.

Even if gasoline becomes much more expensive through EPA regulation jammed down everyone's throat for better mileage - and we start having to have diesel injection tech pushing the price of trucks up from 30K to 40-50K it will eventually just become unbearable for more and more Americans to even afford a new vehicle.

Depending on your trading system you can still get round it even if you're busy, you need to have an exit strategy otherwise you'll ride it to the top then back to the bottom, its not about what you make its about what you keep. Everybody has different methods, personally what I do is I won't enter a trade until I know where I'm taking my profits and where I'm cutting my losses according to the entry price and trend.

If youre around watching the market and it goes long in front of you you can sell off an x amount to break even then move your profit point even higher and move stop loss up so you've got no risk involved to the trade anymore. Otherwise if youre busy and your orders are put through once it hits a certain point you'll have your order filled so you don't have to consistently be watching the market.

But once again, you're acting as if EVs are in anyway a replacement for combustion vehicles. They aren't, they never will be. It'll be hybrids.

People don't want to spend three days driving a distance they can cover in 10 hours at present.

Also, I can keep a normal car on the road indefinitely, how much are the batteries in a Tesla going to cost to replace after a decade *******?

Mmm... most electrics will be replaced in 10-20 years depending on level of nickle and lithium and how balanced they are and treatment. Most are slated to last 200,000 miles.

Hybrids won't be the replacement as most car manufacturers make very little on hybrids as it costs 40% more to make a hybrid over a standard combo as you need /both/ components to make a hybrid versus one or the other. EV's are cheaper to make as far as # of parts but the material being the battery is what drives the cost up. We just don't have enough rare earth metal - hence nickle will start to be the more common battery and why recycling EV batteries will be such a big deal. It really comes down to Battery Thermal Management Systems (BTMS) as heat is what breaks your battery.

Cucked by range, cucked by limited lifespan, cucked by the most expensive part adding a ton of weight and limiting the vehicle's long term viability, cucked by the retard heading it.

If you bought in at 800 just LOL,

If you're buying in at 600 just LOL

If you bought in at $1 and didn't unload those shares on the morons jumping on the bandwagon, triple lol...

Yeah, I've had other things to focus on.

You're free to throw your money in boyo, best of luck to you. Mine's going elsewhere.

If it does take off, make sure you have a point where you're happy to either take profit or at least pull back your initial capital. LOL at these nonces riding chit to the bottom.

If it does take off, make sure you have a point where you're happy to either take profit or at least pull back your initial capital. LOL at these nonces riding chit to the bottom.

Green Thumb if it goes below 30.

HIMS if it heads back below 13.

ROOT if it dips below 10

and T. Because that pays a hnnnnnnngh dividend, is recession proof and should really be sitting in the $45-55 range. T is almost risk free, LUMN is the riskier version but still worth a look, especially if the price pulls back.

If you want more weed advice, Tilray and Aphria seem to be bouncing down 20% then back up 20% so aren't difficult to swing. Could really spike too. Risky play with weed stocks though.

Put it into uranium stocks. CCO, EFR, DML, RIO, BHP etc. there are many different ones.

Spot price up
Capacity down
50 nuclear power plants being built
Spot market getting bought out

Uranium stonks are going to the moon boyo.

Also, I can keep a normal car on the road indefinitely, how much are the batteries in a Tesla going to cost to replace after a decade *******?
Did you watch Nio day presentation? Their cars are doing 600+ miles per charge, subscription system, battery replacements. There are about 10 companies i've read about in the last day that work on 100% recyclability, charging trucks that can recharge several EV-s wherever they run out of battery, charging stations. It's not a question of when EVs will be replacing everything, it's a question of whether it'll happen in 2030s or 2040s.

That's not even talking about the current mineral suppliers for the whole boom, there's nano silicon tech that has been developed for a decade or so which will add another third of battery life, fast chargers etc. Literally everywhere you look there's EV in every sector of the global economy.

Fast charging and battery capacity/efficiency both have diminishing returns. Fast charging also creates heat which damages batteries. If I want to drive from NY to Florida I can refill my tank in around 5 minutes. How long is charging 3+ times going to take?
