Taking my first solo trip today, srs. Pro tips welcome.

-Never have traveled solo
-Never stepped foot on a plane
-I take off at 10:18 am
-A few miscers I'm close with have already given me some tips, but a few more couldn't hurt.


I am legit kind of scared. I got my boarding pass downloaded, and parking set. Really the only thing I'm unsure about is stepping foot into 3 different airports I've never been to. Is TSA theft really a thing? I don't want my laptop stolen.

My pro tip is to be there by 8am because you don't know what kind of delays there might be & they don't give a fuk if you miss your flight

I'm flying out of Hobby in Houston, but I have a connecting flight in DFW before my final destination.

Sick. If you have a couple hours of lay over time, locate your next gate & then shop around and scope the HBB's that litter airports

Also grab some bubblegum in case you need to pop your ears at altitude



Take video of yourself when the plane starts to accelerate and lift up for your first time, chit is priceless

Love traveling solo. Beats traveling with girls except for the sex of course. My god when I traveled to Thailand with bishes, they were more interested in shopping in malls than visiting the temples and heritage sites.

Take advantage of the fact that you're alone, you have control of your time. When I travel alone I mostly just walk, and just go where my foot takes me, it makes me explore places and neighborhoods that most tourists don't get to and that way you'll be able to experience more of a normal atmosphere in the country you're traveling in. Try talking to locals too.

'Preciate it brah. Got 2 pack of Orbit ready, I'll try and take a video lol. I doubt I'll be landing any HBB's though, not as lean and tbh I just stopped caring about the chase for now.

Got it. Probably going to take a town tour where I'm going. They have a trolley for it.

You’ll be good. The bigger airports in the country may be intimidating if they have a few terminals and you have to exit and re-enter to get on your next plane, but the smaller ones are a joke. Really only two ways to go in the smaller ones, towards the planes or away towards the street. You’re staying within the county and everything will be in English, just ask if anything. Better yet just ask even if you know just to get out your comfort zone.

You'll be fine, and have fun! DFW is very easy to navigate and their Skylink system is quite nice. It's also a great airport for walking. Have fun with whomever you're meeting up with, and remember that no is a complete sentence

Enjoy it and be thankful you’re going solo so you are in charge and can do what you want. You don’t have to compromise with what someone else wants to do and can be spontaneous and just focus on having a great time.

Keep a carryon with you that you can put your valuables in and place under the seat in front of you (backpack). I once placed my backpack in the storage above and someone went through every zipped pocket while I was sleeping (international flight). But luckily I didn’t have any valuables in there which is why I placed it above.

Take a photocopy and a picture of your passport. if it goes missing you can tell them that is what it looks like. It helps people when they are checking things.

The safest place against pick poketeers is next to your dink. No male pick poketer ever goes there. It will give you peace of mind.

Also relax and enjoy the ride. When you overcome minor difficulties on your own it builds you up as a better man and you feel good later on.

not really a big deal unless you dungoofed and booked connecting flights way too close to each other, even in that case .. even in bigger airports it isn't really that hard.

worst case scenario you can show an employee your ticket and they'll point you in the right direction. I've connected through LAX and O'Hare and had no trouble finding where to connect flights. Internationally i don't think it's a big deal either, there's people that know English

DFW sucks if you have to make a connecting flight without a lot of time. They will change the gate without updating the online info. As soon as you step off in DFW, ask the attendant in the boarding area for the correct Terminal for your connecting flight. Dead srs.
