i think the older JRPGs moreso than the newer ones have more of a grind element to it for sure

Freya is probably good because of her AOE regen ability, but meh I literally haven't played her much AT ALL

Apparently auto-regen and the status immunes work like a charm. But my party just keeps getting obliterated by one single move though that does like 4K+ damage. May try again today with a slightly different strategy. I also dun-goofed by not stealing that much the entire game to my thievery is weak af lol. Grand Cross is supposed to be the most problematic skill but it's the Neutron Ring chit that just wipes out my entire party.

Back to the drawing board I guess, I missed a few good items though so I'll just backtrack through Memoria, also level up and pick up some skills.

The chocographs is also pissing me off because I literally spent 30 minutes of digging to find one. Fuk spending like 10 hours trying to get the rest.
If you steal enough and kill enough dragons with the dragoon chick in your party she and zidane will both do 9999 damage with Thievery and whatever her best skill is called. I just spammed those and whatever Steiner’s best skill is and had Dagger heal or buff the party every round.

Go to the city on the cliff, it’s on the continent to the west iirc. Outside the city you’re guaranteed to fight black dragons so just kill them and have zidane steal. If you’re starting from zero it’s probably gonna be a 2-3 hour grind. You need 100 dragons starting from zero to max Freya. Thievery is calculated with the following formula - (speed x # of steals)/2. That’s what I did to level both skills up and it was fuking boring but worth it.

Always been a multiplayer guy so played with friends in madden, nba2k, cod, battlefield, etc. Now that I'm getting older I'm jumping into the single player games and really enjoying them.

Started Skyrim and am already 200 hours in. Beat the main mission and am going to start the dragonborn and dawnguard dlcs. Blown away at how much this game has to offer.

Gamepass has all the Fallout games to download so going to start Fallout 4 once I'm done with Skyrim. Never once played a Fallout game.

So I decided phuck it and attempted the the last boss again without grinding.

Used Zidane/Dagger/Eiko/Steiner. Was getting closer and closer pretty much everytime with some minor tweaks to gear and abilities.

I managed to unintentionally "cheese" the last boss on my 3rd attempt lol. Neutron Ring pretty much 1 shot Dagger/Eiko who have around 2.5K HP max anyways. But managed to get trance on Zidane and Grand Cross inflicted Berserk on Steiner. Started hitting 9999's with Steiner in exchange for not being able to control him then pretty much the last boss was cake from there.

Kinda unspectacular but I'll take it lol. Also my game kept crashing at one of the ending cutscenes which pissed me the phuck off so I had to watch the rest of the ending on youtube.

Amazing game overall though. Battle system was great, abilities are cool, great soundtrack, story, characters, etc. One thing I will say though is in certain places encounter rates are just fuking ridiculous lol. I probably should have read up more on how the abilities/skills worked because I didn't understand it fully until like half way through the game. And that skills like Thievery gain power as you steal more, lol. Wish I knew that chit before hand.

Might play another FF game, might be itching to play 6,7,8, then 10.

Listen if you wanna hear some good salt XD Dunno why he thinks I'm on my smurf account. He could see I have 300+ wins on my record before the game starts.

Fighting games really are where the salt's at lol. Or it's just probably because you don't usually hear what the enemy is saying in shooting games.

Naturo Shippuden: Ninja Storm 4. Very underrated fighting game.

[img]https://news.xbox.com/en-us/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/03/TW_Available-Today_Coming-Soon_templates_3.16.2021.jpg[img]
Among those games, I've only played Nier: Automata and Pillars of Eternity and I vouch for them. Nier Automata is an rpg with Devil May Cry style fighting system, meanwhile Pillars of Eternity has an old school rpg fighting system, if you're familiar with Baldur's Gate, that's exactly how it is. Great story and great choices.

I played Octopath and had fun but never finished. It just got too repetitive for me. It’s basically 8 separate stories and each one has 4 parts. None of the stories really intersect. Each character obviously gets strong development because they have a 4 part story focused on them. But you have to level grind at certain points and the combat isn’t mindless spamming attack or your strongest skills. That makes grinding really tedious and mentally exhausting imo. The combat isn’t bad it just wasn’t for me especially when it came to grinding.

I really like the artstyle of Octopath, it sorta takes that charm of old 90s 2D graphics and skins it into a modern RPG

It's certainly beautiful. I never picked it up when it came out on Switch. I'll give it a try since it's on game pass now (and a higher resolution doesn't hurt). Their next game, Project Triangle, also looks really cool.

I'm playing pillars of eternity 1 on pc right now, i'm having a blast, but you have to like that genre of CRPG (Baldur's gate and the games like it) so PoE II is worth it.

^It's a really good RPG. It's one of the games I'm trying to finish right now too. I tried Baldur's gate 1 so that I won't miss any lore when I play 2 and 3, but the graphics, animation, and sound effect really didn't age well.

So Pillars of Eternity is such a blessing. Such a joy to play this type of game with smooth animation and graphics.

Their writers are really talented too

Mirin, I had no interest in AC Valhalla before but as a fan of Vinland Saga, knowing that there's a Vinland part in this game makes me interested.

Legit ignorant on western geography and thought Vinland is a fictional place lmao

Days Gone
Spider-Man: Miles Morales

I have played days on PS4 pro, I took a break but back to it on the Ps5. I feel like The big differences pop.

Miles I always planned to wait for Ps5.

Astros room on Ps5 even compelled me to name my controller.

My dual sense controllers name is Charlene.

Cool huh boyos?

Beat A Plague Tale on game pass. pretty good game, but I felt like it outstayed it's welcome. glad to see such high fidelity AA games.

Very emotional bits in the story. Childhood innocence truly is something special.

Tried the new match replay feature in R6. Sucks that you can't remove the enemy outline. Still better to record matches with Shadowplay, but this is a really nice feature for when you pull a really nice play but missed recording it.

I love that game. But it was hard for me to truly immerse on the 'childhood innocence' part when I have a young lass' ass dangling on my screen.

my buddy bought a house near me and turned his shed into a temporary smoking shed, so we go there and do dabs and i went today and this nut had two full racing simulators set up on two ps5's both online so we could race eachother. it was ****ing awesome, we played gran turismo and grid, both were fun af. i am legit considering investing in a full setup for my game room.

one on a projector and one on a big ass 4k hdr tv, i think it was a 55 or 60 inch.

I recently came across a mod for neverwinter nights 2 thatis BG1/Tales of the Sword Coast, converted in its entirety to neverwinter nights 2. Since I already owned nwn2 on gog, I'm gonna check it out. Nwn2 is still old but far more modern in terms of graphics, it might be worth checking out. Nwn2 probably gets real cheap I'd imagine

I am nearing the end of the Gears 5 single player dlc, Hivebusters.

Beautiful visually. Some really stunning locations. It's been awesome to see how The Coalition has improved since Gears 4 (which I wasn't a big fan of).

God bless these modders that donate their time to do this chit as I'm sure the chit is phucking tedious, but they do it for the love of the game I guess.

Wish I played this as a kid, would have been super nostalgic, I'm already liking the beginning, the atmosphere, the BGM

Best one.
