CT can definitely be beautiful -- admittedly the city I live in currently (Stamford) is not the prettiest; although I took a back way home from McDonalds which goes through the RED neighborhood (ded fkn Srs)

when I was a kid my dad was the manager of a pizzeria in hartford at the end of the 80's beginning of the 90's, I remember it getting robbed all the time, windows busted. sometimes he would take me with him to deliver pizzas and he would get into fights with black people

stamford is one of the most boring cities i have ever seen (similar to white plains)

lacks a soul

tons of random condos

no real core mainstreet type area with character and charm

its the middle ground between somewhere like New canaan or westport and NYC (and not in a good way)

place is super nice, its basically white people heaven.


I drove through stamford once and got a feeling of melanchony and depression wrap over my entire body. (very rarely do I have that type of reaction to a place). but i assume there are younger people there so if you are unmarried and need to be in CT better to be there than westport or new canaan or darien



why dont you just move to nyc if you are single? (could grab something cheap there now)

Westport is far nicer than new Canaan. Westport has a beach and restaurants.
