I've got a toddler. Despite it being difficult it's one of my best decisions. Can afford it, no problem. There's a good argument for kids being career motivation too.

We did set up our lives with the plan to have kids, so we were ready. Nothing like blamming nuts deep with the full intention of making a baby.

If you don't want kids, definitely don't have them. You won't get through the hard parts.

90%+ of babies born in 2021 will live their entire adult lives and die on their feet as corporate slaves for amazon, walmart, etc.

This is something I hear A LOT. If everyone misses the baby stage so fuggin much how bad are they later in life? Because I cant fuggin wait to "miss" this time of their life.

I never lost any sleep because my son inherited my ability to sleep through a hurricane. He's slept through the night since he was 6 weeks old.

It's not that you will miss it because it gets worse. It's because they will never be like that ever again. And the fog of the war zone going on right now will eventually settle to reveal the sweet memories of early childhood.

The idea of having a kid scares me. Broke up with my ex who’s 27 and she’s begging me back, but I think it might be her bio clock she’s freaking about. Call me selfish but I just can’t see myself taking care of another human being, or losing sleep and time. I know I’m not the only one, misc. I’m just going to be a bachelor for a while maybe. Or maybe I just need to meet the right person.
I never had kids and that is in part from being with a woman who couldn't have them.

I have gone through periods where I have gotten sad due to never having had a Christmas and so forth. Children tend to love me and I love talking to kids. I love unique perspectives and so kids are fun to talk to for me. In addition, I almost never get angry and love teaching things so I would have been a great dad.

However, I like to do a lot of different hobbies and so with no kids, I can do what I want. However, because I enjoy life so much, I don't get too bored or lonely. That's important.

In addition, I have always thought the world was f@cked up, which is why I work in psychology, and now it seems MORE f@cked than ever, so I am happy I don't have kids.

I feel like I was born at the end of a positive era and after the 60s the media turned society into a miserable place. Everything is always negative, we are always in some fake crisis, the weather is going to kill us, the oil is running out, there's always going to be a war, religious people dominate, and so on. If you have a daughter, if she's not good looking she might as well kill herself, if she is good looking then she has to be like a porn whore to get a husband, if she even wants that. Traditional values like being honest, etc are seen has fantasy oriented and crazy.

I don't see myself preparing a kid to live in this world, in the US.

pretty much everyone who has kids never thinks about that kid as a grown up adult. yeah they might do something they enjoy for 40+ hours a week, but also there's a huge chance they'll have to do something boring **** for 40+ hours a week and mostly not enjoy life that much. i just couldn't feel good if i brought someone into the world without some kind of a hand up or opportunity to not live like this :

I think people who do are absolute ****s and are selfish
Truth. its unethical to bring kids into a life of wage slavery.

The erasure of parental control means that I will likely be in constant battle with the state to protect my child from perverse agendas... and in the end I will probably lose.

Scared of having a daughter, whilst currently watching womens sex-based rights and protections get battered down by degenerate men in wigs and skirts. What kind of life would she have? No sports, no safe spaces, no means to say no to creepy men.

I don’t believe my family history is anything particularly grandiose and in need of preserving. Just a long line of worker ants.

Am atheist. Scared of dedicating my only life to make my kids life the best possible and losing out on enjoying my own.

I couldn’t deal/cope with a disabled or special needs child, it would ruin my life and I would probably ruin theirs.

I would not be a good mother.

Probably loads more, thats just off the top of my head.

My son wont sleep, needs constant attention and screams at every fugging thing. My daughter was an accident and the fear of it happening again made me get snipped 2 months after her birth.

My son is almost 3 now, daughter is 1.5. I have to leave the house about 4 times a day because they piss me off so much just being babies. Everyone keeps saying "oh they get better at 2, 3, 4, 5 years old" No they dont, the BS just changes as they age.

I love my kids, I miss them when Im not around but when I am around I just want to leave. I have no time for myself, and if I do take time for my self I get guilt about not being around for the kids. I have no time for any of my hobbies or anything that actually makes me happy.

So yeah, I have kids, I love them, I will never leave them, I will be the best dad I can be, but every single day I regret having kids.

Our entire society is built around "you should start a family" Na, unless you have full on baby fever and know you want a bunch of kids, you dont actually want kids. You just think you do because is the "norm".
They get less dependent when they get older, but then you run into the issue of they'll get smart enough that they start pushing your buttons and testing your limits on purpose.

God help you when your daughter becomes a teenager. Would not wish that hell on anyone (dealing with it right now.).

It's all amazing and easy when it comes to raising children until they become teenagers. Then things get tough, in a more emotionally draining way because they don't want to be around their parents.

When she was little it was the best time of my life. Cute outfits, play dates, birthday parties, amusement parks. Now it's non stop snide comments and criticism, and they would rather be with their friends than their parents. Add in Covid where their friends are taken away from them, and you've got grumpy teens.

Id argue the opposite. While we can create our own meaning to an extent, many of the most important things like health, family, talents/skills, are things you're either blessed with or you're not. You dont have much control of this s*it, and the result is most people live lives that arent good or to their satisfaction. why bring another person into this situation?

The best you can do to give the next generation a good life is to try to raise them well. You have plenty of control over that. There are no guarantees ofc.

Everybody faces hard times in their lifes, some more, some less. But most people still prefer being born, I would think.

Dont want and wont have kids. Studies show it makes parents unhappy and their happiness only goes up when the kids leave the house.

regardless of how you're raised, the odds are you'll just be a corporate wage slave. And honestly thats if you're lucky nowadays, being a decently paid wage slave is some kind of charmed life. just lol if thats the standard now.

People prefer being born cause its all they know. its impossible to interview someone who got aborted and if they are happy to not be a 9-5 slave.

The powers that be are alarmed that birth rate is down but dont want to make life better to improve the lives those wage slaves will lead
