Well I should say the "vets" killed the seal after deciding the best thing to do was just off it instead of you know, actually trying. Likely they were worried who was going to pay their exorbitant fees for looking after the ****ing thing.

Anyway if you cannot control your dog you should not have it. I had a next door neighbour once who had this agrresive dog and it got out of their garden into ours and went after my cat, I grabbed its choke collar and Frisbeed the ****ing thing clear over the fence and told that bitch to get rid of it.

****ing hate idiotic irresponsible pet owners, and vets, angels of death I call them, put it down their answer to everything.

At the idiot dog owners and also at that % of veterinarians and animal welfare activists who are so quick to euthanize injured animals to "put them out of their misery". I think some of them are actually psychopaths LARP'ing as animal lovers.

Seals can survive shark bites. No reason that seal couldn't have live many more years after a dog bite.

Sad, and I am a firm believer that the owner/handler of a dog is responsible for what their dog does. Dog wsn't even that big. Weak ass females running around with these dogs.

We have had vets before suggest putting our pets down and I will always at that stage take pet to 2 or 3 other vets if needed and eventually you'll find one who is like oh nah you don't have to put this animal down we can try x, y, z.

Yes that seal could have lived and had quality of life but the vet probably just cbf

Would people be in favor of dog owners being charged for whatever acts of violence their dog commits

Not sure how it currently works. I know there's something like that in the law. But it would be more a deterrent to lazy and/or irresponsible dog owners if consequences were more serious.

Having a dog can be essentially like owning a weapon. If you don't know how to handle it, or control it, you should be punished according to the crime.

The dog needs to be put down, she needs to face heavy fines, and should never be allowed to own a pet or have kids.
