What is the stupid logic behind "you should be thankful"?
You can criticise something very thoroughly without showing a lack of appreciation.
Working in a sedentary position for 40 years in an artificially lightened box is something to move away from but it is always "go to Africa to be a starving child and see if you like that".
As if it is the only two options out there. LUL
Obviously, it is the burden of the individual to figure out a better solution/system for himself.
But "you should be thankful" is a form of whataboutism.

Pointless to worry about. People will always criticize those that stray from the beaten path until you “make it” in their eyes.
Comparing yourself to others, wondering why others do certain things, and caring what other people do are enormous wastes of time and only serve as procrastination to fixing why you’re unhappy with yourself.

imagine being born as a jew in nazi germany, a slave in the south in the 1700s or a feudal peasant in england.
i don't think we shouldn't criticize our society but i always like to keep my complaints in perspective, because there are billions who would trade lives with me.

You don't know how much I needed to hear that. Like really. Don't apologize for being rude. I have infinitely more important things that I should be doing but am consistently neglecting, this being one of the many mindless and stupid diversions I try to seek pleasure from. But goddamn you couldn't be more right and I couldn't be trying harder to pretend that's not true though I know very well it is. I am NOT on the right track my dude. I have been putting off my work because it got "hard" and I got demotivated, I've been living like an animal, been staying up till 6 am doing ******** like this and getting up at 2 pm while spending the rest of the day like a degenerate. All it took was one slip, a little burnout and I lost my entire flow. I've always had a problem of focusing on the wrong things, and now it's been taken to the extreme with me seeking every opportunity to divert myself from my real duties. I'm sorry for ranting here but I sincerely thank you for that blunt remark. I don't know how you were able to damn near read my mind, but I appreciate you seeing the humam inside this username and saying what you said. I need to get my **** together and rethink what I'm doing with myself.
