My son was running a train on fries, ate all of his and some of my girls, and i said hey don't let him eat anymore fries, he needs to eat his food. My mother in law snapped, slammed down her plate said, in spanish "I ATE FRIES WHEN I WAS YOUNG AND I'M FINE"

plot twist, shes not fine, shes bat chit crazy. Biggest problem i have is her disrespecting my parenting. Yes i know he's going to love fries, but it's important for him to eat other things as well (not forcing, but normally we hide chit like fries or chips at mexican restaurants)

sad part is, my girl knows shes crazy, but in the moment ignores it. After about 2 hours i brought her back to reality.

Apparently im creating too much pressure by expecting him to be awake by 10:30 am, because when he's not awake that early he doesnt nap and stays up until 1, but yea thats just a selfish me thing apparently.

We're in a 2 bedroom so she sleeps with him, the too much pressure is a direct quote. Problem is she thinks this is vacation. I told my girl her mom can sleep on the couch and i can put our son to sleep and wake him up if she has that big of a problem with it. (she's still sleeping there).

To be honest she's just incredibly lazy (i also do her dishes regularly, and make her breakfast and dinner), and has no idea how the real world works. She has like 10 pseudo allergies, doesn't eat egg yolks + 10 other things because she was forced to eat it when she was 8, despite the fact that she's almost 50 years old now.

I had fresh zucchini i grew in the garden (shes also weirdly an organic queen, when its convenient), and made some zoodles. Knowing she doesnt like seafood ("is allergic"), i prepared hers completely seperate. Despite that she still didnt eat it. I/m a chef and laugh at this concept, there's going to be way more cross contamination at any restaurant that serves seafood. I took so much care to make something for her, all for her not to eat it.

Some times those sort of people need to be put in their place in front of everyone. Remain calm, of course, don't lose your cool, and firmly say"I raise my child how I choose to, being his father."I don't know the situation or your MIL enough, but personally, I would be adding two or three more sentences in there that basically put a stop to any sort of confrontation. Some sort of ultimatum demanding a better attitude / more respect. Not a whiny one, but a firm, "You better STFU or I'm getting the fuk outta here and you can fuk yourself" in a polite way.

My mom basically raises my nephews, but my brother-in-law is a *******. It's the opposite scenario. They dump the kids off on her not just work days, but on off-days too so this ******* can play Dungeons 'n' Dragons. He says his back hurts too much to carry the kids down the stairs, meanwhile my mom is in her 60s. He watches the woman who babysits his kids probably 80 hours a week (10+ hours a day, some times 12 - 14) carry them down the stairs with her arthritis and bad knee. He's such a hipster *******.

that's whats frustrating. while we were waiting for our house we lived with my parents for awhile and we definitely had fights, but never once did they tell her what our son should eat.

And the point isn't about my son being unhealthy, im all about him enjoying great food, but the problem is, he ate all of his fries and wouldnt eat the quesadilla we ordered for him. And i think its important for him to eat what he has. I''m not going to force him to eat it, but i won;t give him more fries. We normally do taco tuesdays and go through the same thing with chips, and tell the waiters to hide the chips, which is my pet peeve. IF you take it away he'll eat whats in front of him, i dont want to create bad habbits yet, i mean the dudes already crushing deep fried potatoes thats not enough?

Trust me, I would have but I was in shock. Everyone was staring at us and she stormed off.

Icing on the cake, my brother was dating a Colombian girl, and my brother is the most shy guy you can imagine and would never get involved in this, and when she left said yeah Marcella (his ex) said she talked poorly about you and our parents.

The other day I was at Lowe’s and came home (after talking to my gf about wanting our son to eat healthier) and she says “kaiden was eating crackers with butter” and I lost it. 6 hours ago I said I don’t want him eating all this processed food. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind him eating fries and garbage once or twice a week but it’s been all the time and I told her that.

And then tonight, I didn’t have a problem with him eating ALL OF HIS FRIES, I just wanted him to then eat his quesadilla. I didn’t want to force it, but normally we hide chips or fries when his meal comes so he eats the rest. And instead she was feeding him fries because he “didn’t want his quesadilla”. It’s beyond frustrating because me and my girl never fight but the last month that she’s here we’re fighting like crazy.

And she said well she apologized to me and your mom, and what about me? She disrespected me. She undermined me.

And again she has the intelligence of maybe a 15 year old.

She sounds like she has Borderline Personality Disorder, honestly. Like Janice and Livia from the Sopranos. But I hear the stereotype Latina mothers are particularly intense, from husbands and from stand-up comedians of all walks.

To be honest she deserves her own category. She wakes up at 12. Eats breakfast at 3, doesn’t eat red meat because it’s “unhealthy” yet eats microwaved rice and fake macaroni and cheese. When she comes here she gets about 15 bottles of pills ordered here. Our whole house reeks of essential oils. And if I complain I’m the problem. My son walks over to me and smells like an essential oil bomb. Our car our house both reek of essential oil. It’s not subtitle is intoxicating. And if I say anything I’m wrong.
