Might be great if everything lined out well. If they wanted the two women could both be part time SAHMs + part time WOHMs. Or maybe one wants to work and one wants to stay home.

Unpopular opinion time. It’s true we have a biological urge to spread our seed. I don’t deny that.
But it’s also wired in us to connect with individuals on a social level and grow close too.
It’s not just humans who need this connection. Wolves, coyotes, bald eagles, penguins, and beavers all pair bond with another, opposite sex member.
So I think the answer is that it’s a bit of both. In a raw purely sex driven perspective then no, probably not designed to be monogamous.
But it’s not as simple as being driven by a single need. As a whole we do tend to be a species that’s happier pair bonding.
Like I said unpopular opinion and most miscers are going to come in here pointing to the pure biological urge to spread their seed as much as possible as their argument. The reality is it’s not that cut and dry.
Should we have implemented these strict social rules that deny people from exploring on occasion? Probably not. That does go against our nature.
But if you wiped away the rules I’d bet you’d still see people pair off and mate with the same person the majority of their life. Maybe the occasional straying would happen, but the draw would always exist to return to a single person for that need for connection and devotion.
I think that’s what people don’t realize. And I think humans would be equally unhappy just going from one person to the next forever with no afterthought of the previous partner.

I seem to vaguely recall something about pagans having holidays or festival days that were essentially a "free pass" built in to the calendar.

Now that monogamy is all but over, it will become more and more difficult to capture labor from lower ranking men. That's where onlyfans comes in and fills that void ded srs.

It's "reductionistic" meaning you take a super complicated thing and reduce it down to one part and then pretend that one part is what drives the whole system.
In addition, it's a Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc causation error.
That means that you see and end result and think it's the cause.
In the case of brain hormones, they are triggered by thoughts, they do not create thoughts.
It's a common bad science thing to do this because thoughts and beliefs can't be observed so fake scientists pretend they don't exist. In reality, we know that winning the lottery triggers excitement with "excitement" being chemicals in your body. The chemicals come second, not first.
However, people are overawed by fake science stuff and ignore what they experience and know to be true.
Regarding friendship, loves, and so on, you may not realize it, but humans have complex philosophies about love and relationships. A common subject on the misc is the subject of loyalty and reliability in relationships. Also, there's a lot of philosophy on the misc about what is a handsome, beautiful, sexy, adorable male or female and why. There's probably a DECADE of nonstop opinions on the misc about these subjects.
So, all of the chemicals get released in real life AFTER the person thinks "Look at that face, body, etc" and "Wait, this person likes me!!??" and then "Maybe this is my soul mate" and then years later "She is getting sick, I would be a terrible person to leave after all she has done. I must be loyal!" and then "Even though she can't talk, I know it's her. I still love her anyway" and then "She's dead, but she's not really dead, I can feel her".
All through the different stages different feelings and mental states are achieved and there's hormones triggering those, but they were caused by all the complex beliefs people have about the life they are leading.

I've beenmarried almost 9 years. We have established wayyyyy more assets and wealth then we would have separately. We're far from rich, but are saving, budgeting, and doing way better than in our 20's. Some of that comes with age and wisdom, but we have a lot of trust and financially it's comforting to be able to invest and get property.
Now if you're a singe male making 200k a year... chit... marriage might be extra challenging , because w/ that type of income, you're options EXPAND on what talent you could acquire.

"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

Who stays married any more? Bill Clinton? Sure if you are married to a bridge troll that doesn't care how much strange you get. Or just don't care about money like Trump and trade them in every few years when they get old/ugly.

I am recently single and I’ve done a lot of thinking while talking to multiple girls (and no commitments) that I get a damn rush out of it and love it. Maybe it’s me but eventually I get tired of one girl, so I move on to another or I look for another challenge. I get that marriage is a sacred establishment and you’re supposed to fight for, support and love your partner forever but were we really designed that way?

Yes, monogamy is better for society, but nature doesn’t want a productive society, nature wants the best genes being passed on. That’s why Mr Sawyer gets hard when looking at his 20 year old secretary while his wife is at home taking care of the baby. It’s really that simple.
Slut shaming should be brought back immediately, the problem with that is that even with slut shaming, social media prevents people from truly knowing which one are the sloots.
20 years ago, if you saw Becky talking with Chad one day at a party and then going home with him, you could aware Brad which was fuking her the night before. Nowadays it’s really hard to know who’s fuking who. Chicks basically have and endless amount of options on their DMs, and it’s all done in private. 5 texts later and she’s taking an Uber to a Chads house, nobody really finds out, that never happened.
20 years ago if you want to reach a girl, you either talk to her IRL and in public or you call her house phone, potentially talking to her father/mother etc. Nowadays it’s free for all.
Same for monkeybranching, how could your wife/gf meet somebody new when she’s with you all day? And when she goes out she’s with you? If she meets a guy at a party that the liked, well that’s it, it’s not like the dudes going to be calling her house phone or going to her house, I mean it did happen but way less frequent.
Now, girl and guy can be talking for months trough DMs, and again, nobody really knows. She gets bitchy with bf or husband because she knows she has options waiting for her, literally would help her move the very same day.
Basically there’s hardly any commitment nowadays.

If you rearrange the pronunciation of "monogamy" you get "mog onto me"

let's disregard that we know people fuk each other.
let's also get away from the "want" and "desire" to be attracted by others cause i think that has no basis; too many potentials to cover: boredom/ bad previous partners/ inadequacies, etc., etc. - list goes on and on
but lets imagine we're actually polygamous. i know most people wont actually imagine this but literally try to imagine if you grew up in a polygamous household:
this would mean that you grow up in household(s) where one or both parents have multiple partners. i would imagine this would mean a lot of people don't know their fathers, both literally biologically and personally because that would mean your father is constantly leaving. could be mothers, but probably less so
but yet... we know divorce wreaks havoc in households.
further, does true polygamy mean no investment? like.. a true polygamist wouldn't worry about relationships at all, it would be moreso just trying to occupy your time with whatever at whatever time. i would imagine then we wouldn't care about relationships at all
a few hundred or thousands of years of religion wouldn't be enough to break human evolution.. so from that standpoint, like i said earlier, i would imagine that means we wouldn't care about relationships at all
having a multitude of parents would be normal.
we wouldn't care about cheating because if we evolved that way through hundreds of thousands of years, then it would just be normal
i would imagine buying a home would be different too. polygamsists must be more nomadic because you wouldn't be staying in one household if you had a multitude of partners
just looked up some stuff:

a few hundred or thousands of years of religion wouldn't be enough to break human evolution.. so from that standpoint, like i said earlier, i would imagine that means we wouldn't care about relationships at all
having a multitude of parents would be normal.
we wouldn't care about cheating because if we evolved that way through hundreds of thousands of years, then it would just be normal
i would imagine buying a home would be different too. polygamsists must be more nomadic because you wouldn't be staying in one household if you had a multitude of partners
just looked up some stuff:
Only about 2% of the global population lives in polygamous households, and in the vast majority of countries, that share is under 0.5%. Polygamy is banned throughout much of the world, and the United Nations Human Rights Committee, which has said that “polygamy violates the dignity of women,” called for it to “be definitely abolished wherever it continues to exist.” But there often are limits to government administration of marriages. In many countries, marriages are governed by religious or customary law, which means that oversight is in the hands of clerics or community leaders.
Polygamy is most often found in sub-Saharan Africa, where 11% of the population lives in arrangements that include more than one spouse
Polygamy usually takes the form of polygyny – when a man marries multiple women. Polyandry, which refers to wives having more than one husband, is even rarer than polygamy and mostly documented among small and relatively isolated communities around the world. While polygamy laws are usually skewed in favor of allowing men – but not women – to take multiple spouses, many countries’ laws also speak to the rights of women. In Burkina Faso, for example, where polygamy is common, spouses must agree that a marriage will be polygamous at its outset for the husband to be allowed to take another wife in the future. In Djibouti, a judge records the existing wives’ opinions on any new marriages and investigates the husband’s socioeconomic situation before approving a marriage contract with an additional wife.
One-in-five U.S. adults believe that polygamy is morally acceptable, a recent Gallup poll found.

So cope however you want, but that's the way it is. Monogamy is dead. In a couple more generations, marriage will be mostly dead too. There's no escaping it.

I find the level of intelligence in the misc a bit worrysome TBH. Even Reddit would have an easier time understanding the true nature of men.
All the counterarguments from the “mah monogamy!!!” camp are emotional, anecdotal, insults about circle of friends/family , etc.
Nobody is saying that’s how the world should be, just a bunch of people fuking everybody. But that’s how it is. Oh well.

A place known for massive crime, violence, mass murder, drugs, a caveman lifestyle for most people, low education, dudes lighting women on fire because they won't do anal, and you think your crew are normal people. Tourists go to your country for the pretty prostitutes, which means your men are trash and don't protect your women, for instance.
That's too bad.

I think people should at least try to be monogamous at the beginning of a relationship. Like I understand after like 5+ years of marriage when you are tired of fuking the person that you might want to try something else, but it fuking sucks being cheated on when you're still in the stage of a relationship when you are really into the person.
