2000s rap was lowkey GOAT

2000's rap is underrated AF. May not have been as raw or lyrical as 80's/90's rap, but it was legit. The southern takeover/ATL sound completely dominated hip hop. That crunk sound was REAL. The era of lil jon and t-pain, prime 50, peak lil wayne, nelly, outkast, eminem, early kanye, timbaland, luda, lupe

90's tried hard, while 2000's rap was just like "**** it - let's talk about what's important: money, bad bitches, drank n drugs"

The PEAK PARTY ERA of rap, before things became too mumbly and incoherent

It's wild how much it's changed. Was hardcore hyper masculinity back in that era and now it's mostly about being gay

I disagree, the 90's was the best decade. The 2000's had some great singles and albums too, no doubt. Wu-Tang for example were still going hard af

2000’s really was more pop rap. Less about the actual skill, flow and more about the beats, especially more mainstream beats.
