How many people do you think haven't left the house?

I just had a thought today.

Just how many people haven't left the house since Covid started? I know two people personally that literally have only been outside twice in the last year and a half and we know mental illness is SKYROCKETING.

All the talk aside of things never opening up aside: What's going to happen to these people when they're forced to go out into the world again?

Did we create an army of paranoid schitzos? It's weird now talking to someone on the internet and having them share opinions on everything then realizing they've literally never left the house in a year so how can they know about anything going on?

Nobody is here or very few companies. I actually know a guy who got arrested for breaking into his office building to work, lawyers are weird.

Well how do you associate with someone if you haven't technically seen them in a year? It's wild watching a personality completely change in isolation, just massive depression and constant emotional fantasies but then a complete lack of empathy.

There's plenty of those doing that before the pandemic, so I'm sure the number has increased.

What's a good mental illness ETF?

ETF? Yeah that's the real question is will this form a completely new illness? I know Japan has that one shut in problem but will we get it too? What if these people have to come back out again what will they do?

That's the reason for this thread. You have people arguing to the death who haven't seen actual sunlight in an entire year but are still messaging across the world. It's just an interesting thing thinking about how they're changing mentally and just what is going to come from it.

We have pretty much been inside a year. They made studies of rats that were in isolation and then released, and after they were released back in the social situation, they became aggressive.

I was joking to my husband that we're gon be like those rats when we get released back to the world.

ETF is an investment fund. It's a joke, stating mental illness is on the rise and I would like to invest in it because it's a guaranteed return.

Well Japan, from what I've heard has a similar depression/suicide problem as we do, so I'm sure we'll follow in their tracks. Curious what they'll do to combat it in future years. And we'll continue to do nothing I'm sure...Our peak was in the 50's and 60's using psychedelics in clinical trials I guess, but that's coming back too.

Yeah I'd definitely say aggression is on the rise but I feel like this is going to go elsewhere like completely forgetting society and going out pooping in your fursuit kind of weird. Even social media the posts are all sort of "off" with people you can tell haven't been out. I'm doing such a bad job describing this haha.

Oooooooh, you had my ass going on Urban Dictionary looking for it, I learned something new today. That's the interesting thing is we don't have mental institutions anymore and really most of it is private care, so you're going to have a lot of people completely displaced mentally wandering around having to force relearn how to socialize.

Lots of tards afraid of a flu so I assume the number is higher than we think. Been going into the office and everywhere else ever since the start so I don't know any personally.

They’re a close second to the people who wear a mask alone in their cars.

Or those who wear masks outdoors. I’ve seen some hurry to put the mask on to pump gas.

I saw a lot of homeless when I was in Hawaii recently. Wandering is all they do. Along with talking to themselves. I think the internal voice eventually becomes the external voice, but I've never really studied it, just observed. I'm just not sure anyone can come back from that, but no doubt we need to fund mental illness, because I think that's typically the main reason for homelessness and that's just sad. There's no reason we can't provide some type of job, as menial as it might be to people and give them some where to sleep and eat respectably.

I have friends who claimed they never stepped outside except to pickup delivery.

Meanwhile I've been outside everyday since the pandemic started, been to 5 countries since it started (planning more soon) and took many airplanes and public transit. Never felt sick. Met slerts off Tinder and banged them with condom on my dick but no condom on my face. Hell even runny noses seem absent.

They had workcamps for men during the Great Depression area. The problem was many men didn't come home. Even that recent "no work = no food stamp" program in the North East just led to people going off food stamps permanently because a lot of the employers who hired through that ended up being abusive.

- work from home
- go grocery shopping 1-2 per week
- meet with 1-2 buddies roughly biweekly
- meet with family roughly biweekly

It's not that bad, but I still feel my social skills deterioating quickly never doing smalltalk with strangers or being at crowded places. Probably going to be super autistic, when everything is over.

A lot of trails I've been on were built by those on down times during the great depression.

https://www.nps.gov/subjects/trails/...-of-trails.htm

"Trail development flourished during the 1930s. During this time, workers built many trails on state and federal lands. Federal programs such as the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and Works Progress Administration (WPA) combined conservation and economic relief. Relief crews carried out projects all over the country under strict guidelines for trails and related structures. These tight controls on design and construction made the trails both beautiful and durable. The large crews of young men developed a set of skills that could be passed on to the next generation of trail builders and maintainers. "
