Aggravating as phuk this past year. I only make like 50k/year in the military (yes i know poorcell) but I've seen other people who have one or two kids making more than me on unemployment. People getting back 10k+ on a tax refund just because they have kids.

I should just go knock some sloot up myself.

it is actually quite a lazy piece of **** justification

even if there are low-skilled immigrants taking jobs and pressing down wages

you have a bit better pay and work 40h per week, and you can save up go ahead with some credential and get a better paying job

you have less pay but it is worth it as you work 0 hours per week

I got off unemployment and worked a job making LESS money than what unemployment was giving me. I could've easily stayed on unemployment, but didn't. Making much more now, but still not as much as pre covid.

I tried working full time as a teen. No one wanted to hire me.

I got laid off during recession in 2007, was pretty depressing tbh, it hit FL earlier than the other states and new housing builds crashed. I am always a top performer but it was a "last in, first out" kind of thing. I had just graduated college and had only been working at a professional job for like a year.

I ended up collecting unemployment $250 a week at the encouragement of my father and he is a right wing boomer.

I'd rather be on unemployment than be a wagecuck making the same amount of money.
It's a smart move in my book.
I just don't do it because I'm trying to cope with being a high achiever. I actually admire people that are content with that they have and don't try to cope by trying to always be more and make more.

this logic can be extrapolated to screw over people to be in a better position as a "smart move"

since low-tier wagecucking pays a bit more than unemployment, even if it is for 0 hours compared to 40 hours -> you still save more and it helps you later on if you are trying to improve from that position

Bruh my friend in seattle was getting 830 a week for most of the last 20 weeks and then a week or two ago he said they bumped it to 1100 a week....he can only get it for another couple weeks, guess it's like 23 weeks at a time? I know the cost of living is high, but good lord that's a lot of money for nothing. He's really trying to find work and applies to dozens of places each day, but the market is oversaturated and since everyone is hiring remote you now have to compete with people in other states that are low cost of living who will work for less. It's the one downside about remote work, there are more jobs to apply for, but now everyone from anywhere can apply to them.

I'm in Florida. Anyone who is still on unemployment here is a loser and was a fking lazy loser before the China Virus hit. Don't get me started on earned income tax return scumbags. They single handedly suppport the big screen tv and jewelry/used car markets here.

Now you're imposing your values onto others. Most people would be content if it wasn't for the constant pressure they get from our consumerist society that pushes us to have more and more.

Like I said, I have more respect for people that are content with little than multimillionaires always looking to always make more to satisfy their ego.

I was literally just in McDonaldโ€™s 5 minutes ago and a manager went off on the whole restaurant almost in tears talking about how they are all killing themselves being short staffed because everyone is home collecting more money on unemployment. All because customers were complaining because there were no registers open and they had to use the kiosk. Then I see this thread, the matrix is wild lol.

Fuk man that's brootal. Male of female manager? lol

I feel for them though, some of these people are overworked and underpaid with little to no time to make changes to get out of the hole.

Fukn customers complaining about self service kiosks sounds about right. Lazy fuks.

50k is a lot of money for a single person.
Choosing to be on welfare over working a job that pays around the same is a rational decision devoid of romanticism.

Also lol at believing that a significant portion of taxes goes to welfare. You know damn well that a big chunk goes to the military and Social security for boomers.

I'd rather be upset at government officials getting hundreds of thousands of bonuses for almost doing nothing than a regular guy just getting 12k or so.
I think this stems from jealousy. We're upset that these welfare people beat the system that continuously cucks us.

Lol at believing at welfare recipients are leeches when you see how much congressmen and bureaucrats get paid for doing almost nothing

Unemployment lasts what, several months? You can take a bunch of formations during that period and come out with a skillset actually worth something.
A lot of people are going to find having a huge gap in their employment history during this time to be a huge disadvantage.

Unemployment is a good thing for people to bridge the gap, but when we are handing money to people, and they turn around and buy a brand new TV, then what the fuk is the point? Should be stipulated where part of your unemployment goes directly to a direct deposit to cover your rent/mortgage, then you get a card to buy groceries with, and then another card for miscellaneous purchases.

By halting rent payments and handing people money, they just fukked over the regular working class american.

It'll be even longer.

You underestimate how many people enjoy simply parking their ass on the couch watching TV and screeching on social media while being paid by the gov't.
