Girl at gym kept walking away when I was trying to make conversation...

I was at the gym earlier and saw this girl that had a nurses shirt on and a bandage on her arm so I wanted to ask her about the vaccine, so I just said to her "Hey, don't mean to interrupt your work out was just curious if you got the vaccine?"

And she was pretty short with her answer and then kept walking away when I was trying to talk to her, wasn't trying to hit on her at all, which was really odd.

Why do women do this at the gym? I'm not trying to hit on them but they act like this

I mean I did have chalk on because I was trying to do pull ups, my grip strength probably would have been intimidating.

I was going to disagree with you but then I gave it some more thought and came to the conclusion that I actually kinda agree with you. Even if she just wanted to mind her own business and continue her workout. She could at least spare a few sentences, show some common decency and not have walked away while OP was still talking. Humans are supposed to be social creatures.

The only exception I make is beggars because where I live there's so many and if you actually give them a normal human response (which I did in the beginning) they just won't go away because they think there's a chance, so you kinda have to be rude and completely ignore them or they'll keep pestering you. I did have this one encounter with some dude asking me for food when I was sitting at a restaurant and I actually invited him to sit with me and invited him to a meal. Waitress was kinda shook and looked at me weirdly and I just said I invited him and he's with me now. But if you get approached 10+ times an hour at some places you just can't always pay attention to them. Another time I took this homeless dude into a supermarket and let him pick something. He ended up picking a pack of like 15 little bag of crisps to hand out to all of his homeless friends lol. Kinda ended up as some unrelated rambling but hey I felt like typing it out.

I mean, i get it, people arent obligated to talk to each other, but being nice to others never hurt anybody. We can make assumptions about OPs looks, if he was wearing a mask, if the girl has been harassed before etc, but at the end of the day, i think we can all agree that there's no reason at all to be rude to strangers or blow them off, generally speaking, you want people to be nice to each other.

Humans built this world by socializing and communicating after all, its only the last few decades that people are just starting to mind their own business and be rude to anybody that isnt attractive to them. If the western world keep it this way we will be like the french in no time, well known for being just rude as fuk people.

Ever see those highschool nostalgia videos of like the 90s? Even the 2000s? People talking to each other, laughing, making jokes, comments, etc. Nowadays everybody just keeps their head down looking at their phone screens.

Personally, if a person talks to me, ill try to listen to that person and give them my time. I mean im no billionaire working 16 hours a day, i can spare a minute or two. Even if girls that are attracted to me or have a crush on me while i dont try talking to me, ill at least try not to be rude to them.
