I would say that it's probably true about being banter, "British humor" and all that. But it still hurts as a man and definitely ain't right. You shouldn't joke about these kinds of things in a relationship. The level of leanness he had is pretty much only maintainable as a single guy, and even then it's very difficult. He should really end the relationship. This does show a significant lack of respect and when you see that as a man, it's a very bad sign.

Had same thought as well. Untrained eye and average plebes see first guy as 'jacked' and second as 'normal'. Fact is lighting, tan, quick cut and dehydration play a huge role in how you look. I can look close to second pic after a weekend trip with pizza, beer, etc. While first might be after a pretty intense week. He doesnt have much mass total in either, it all comes down to bodyfat and lighting can absolutely be the difference between abs and no abs.

Put a shirt on him in both pics and you cant tell the difference. Beard growth just makes it look worse

Yep. You can tell who has more power in a relationship based on what they can get away with. Often it's not even who the best looking is - but who can maintain frame better. She has better abs than he does right now - this was basically a not so subtle way of telling him ' get ripped again or your days are numbered '
