I've seen this happen to guys but usually they get fat too.

Caloric deficit, drop some water weight, and get a tan. Most people lack so much insight and awareness about body composition.

That looks like what happens to me over a camping trip. 4 days camping, pounding back brews, dehydration of peace, and I'm an easy 10 pounds heavier when I get home.
