I used to have a coworker who would always post these dumb ass motivational quotes on her Instagram story about her “imposter syndrome” all the time. She got fired though.

So yeah... her feelings that she sucked were totally justified.

It's made up by people who are 'imposters' I.e. incompetent and out of their depth, in order to pretend like they are actually capable. It's a weird kind of self-deception and psychological double bluff.

Ive been suffering from it for years. With help and introspection, I can trace back to upbringing issues, etc..Mainly an insecurity. I have been largely successful in my career, but always feel I am going be found out, like a fraud. someone will see through me. The bright side, is when I feel like I am about to be schooled on something, I study and research so I can win.
