The top charge is 2nd degree unintentional murder, and the criteria for that is killing someone while committing an assault. Now only an idiot would deny that choking someone with a knee for 10 minutes while they are handcuffed, including 3 minutes while unconscious, including after you were told they had no pulse, is NOT assault, especially when it violates police policy.

Then third degree murder = "by perpetrating an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing a depraved mind, without regard for human life". Again only a psycho path would deny his actions did not meet that standard. Any other questions?

From what I've read, the doctor that performed the autopsy is saying George Floyd died from a heart attack.

The prosecutor didn't like the autopsy results so he has hired 5 other doctors to review document and to give their opinions in court on the cause of death. The prosecutor wants the cause of death to be from a lack of oxygen. So it will come down to which medical expert(s) do you believe. From what I've read you can find and hire/pay an expert to say what ever you want pretty much. I'm guessing the doctor is paid well, from the moment he walked out his door to the moment he got home after the court testimony. That is not to say the expert's testimony is necessarily wrong but I am personally more biased against it.

I would say my family member fuked up by swallowing 4x the lethal dose of ******** and resisting arrest. Btw I'm not just saying this, I've dealt with fuk-up drug addicted family members several times before.

Showing empathy doesn't mean wrongfully accusing someone of an execution murder. Control your emotions and read the facts of the case, because at this point the only real criticism that can be levied is the delay between Floyd going unresponsive and being rendered aid, which was still a matter of a couple minutes. But it wasn't the knee that killed him.

He had a knee on the back of his shoulder, as proven in court.

He claimed he could not breathe, prior to even getting out of his vehicle, as proven in court.

He requested to be placed on the ground and not in the car, as proven in court.

He died doing what he loved, police just happened to be present while it happened.

His blood was drawn immediately after death at Hennepin County Medical Center. The official autopsy report shows a concentration of 11 nanograms per milliliter.

How much is that?

Handwritten notes taken when the Medical Examiner briefed prosecutors on his findings suggest it was very high – but not necessarily fatal.

“If he were found dead at home alone and no other apparent causes, this could be acceptable to call an O.D. [Over Dose],” the notes say.

“Deaths have been certified with levels of 3,” the notes indicate. “But I am not saying this killed him.”
They also found semi-dissolved white tablets in the police cruiser they attempted to put him in. The prosecution is literally saying potato things like "he didn't OD because he didn'tlooklike someone who OD'd." RIP their case

Both doctors said yesterday that the behaviors are different when you die from a drug overdose. George did not do, based on video evidence, what drug overdose death people do in their last stages of life.


Cliffs: when you die from drug intoxication the dying body does certain things which George did not do. He died form lack of O2 to his brain after 5 min and was dead for the other 3 min 30 sec.

I've read similar articles already. That doctor isn't saying it killed him either. Why isn't the defense questioning that the levels he had in his system were deadly?

It's one part of what is a very reasonable assessment of the factors leading to Floyd's death. Their arguments from that same article:
“This is what’s called a Speedball – a mixture of an opioid and a stimulant,” Nelson said. “The evidence will show that Mr. Floyd died of a cardiac arrhythmia that occurred a result of hypertension, his coronary disease, ingestion of methamphetamine and ********, and the adrenaline flowing through his body.”
It's possible Floyd may have lived if he wasn't involved in a struggle and restrained, but then whose fault is it for the escalation? The video makes that very clear it's his fault. We need to return to the age of agency and responsibility. His serum levels of ******** were 11 ng/ml.

The recommended serum concentration for analgesia is 1–2 ng/ml and for anaesthesia it is 10–20 ng/ml. Blood concentrations of approximately 7 ng/ml or greater have been associated with fatalities where poly-substance use was involved.
Floyd had multiple drugs in his system. The current argument from the prosecution's toxicologist-witness is that the measured levels were "nor********" which apparently is a metabolized form of the drug, that indicates recent and since-processed use of ********. So that's what I'm curious about.
