Should I buy this boat ?

Seems like a good deal for 1300, I’m sure I could get it down a few hundred though to 1k. Comes with trailer and abu Garcia rod and tackle, lifevests, anchor, etc...

I’m looking for a fishing boat and I think this might be a good deal, I have to get an engine not sure which HP. 15HP would be enough I’m guessing

We had a 14ft bass boat when I was a kid it was awesome, caught some lunkers. My biggest bass was 12lbs

I’d go bigger. A 14’ Jon boat is pretty small on the water and kind of tippy if it’s a 36” bottom. 14’ deepV would be wider more stable. My smallest comfortable boat is 1542 tracker Jon boat. I’ve had a few. Without a motor that’s worth $800 or so if it’s a 14’.

Idk man I think it’s worth 1k with the boat, trailer, the rod, tackle, life vests etc.. seems like a good deal

Trailers for that size boat are atleast 400-500 anyway

I’m not going in the ocean so I think I’ll be fine with a 14’

Looks like a $200 harbor freight trailer. Boat was probably around $800 new. I’d keep looking. Good deals come up in my area regularly, but you gotta be fast to buy.

Honestly you can buy a brand new ordinary Jon boat/trailer that is bigger for not that much. What size lake are you fishing?

Mainly going to be fishing lady bird lake and lake Travis. And looking to go out to other lakes in texas a couple hours away

Nice boats are yes, but a little fishing boat doesn’t require much maintenance, and I can keep it in my garage

I would not buy that boat for anything bigger than a private pond, you're going to be rocking all over the place from the wakes on any decent sized lake. Also you're going to be disappointed that it takes you so long to get anywhere on the lake because you'll have to throttle down for any sort of wake.

I bought a new 2016 1860 (18'long 60" beam) with a 75 horse merc 4 stroke tiller and on the Missouri river where I use it I still have to slow down for alot of the wakes from other boats.

Seems like a lot for that little boat. You can get a small older I/O for like 2k. If you're just fishing small lakes get a kayak for $250.

Idk man, we used to take our 14’ bass boat on huge lakes and also inshore fishing in Florida and we never had a problem even in rough water. I think 14’ is plenty for a decent sized lake

And with a 15HP motor a 14’ boat is pretty fast

Unless You lived on the lake or within 30 mins of one you’d frequent, I don’t see why anyone would want a point.

A few houses in my neighborhood have boats and there’s not a lot of big bodies of water near me. Idk why ppl have boats here in Colorado lol

I mean you can do it but I think you would have a better time in a wider boat, the beam on that thing looks like 36" I would 100% have sea legs after fishing out of that for a few hours

Thanks Brah, I bought it as just the boat/motor/trailer for around 17k I believe, with everything I added I'm probably into it for 22K ish
