Congrats on becoming a landchad

Are you going to endenture a rentcel into a life of servitude or nah

If I was a rentcel I’d probably think of something petty to say

I bought at $750 in 2019 and now it's estimated online at $1M. Thought I'm sure I could get a good bit more than that based on how the others have been selling very recently around here.

This.

The actual, not fake inflation rate given to us by the Fed has to be around 10-15%.

Your house isn't worth more. The dollar is worth a whole lot fooking less.

My current house was $690K when we moved in Nov 2016, currently sitting at $1.2 mil LOL

Previous house we bought in 2009 for $400K, sold it for $700K.

No mortgage anymore, but even if I sold and moved, can't find a decent house for under 1.5 mil unless I move way the fukk out of where I am.

Currently looking for retirement house in Zakopane (mountains of Poland) srs

And yet OPs mortgage (assuming he has one) remains at the same nominal value

That’s one good thing about inflation I suppose, it pays your debts for you

Lucky he put his money (or the bank’s) into real assets

Looking around now to purchase my first house. Places that were going for ~500k 2 years ago now is 700k+. Goddamn I shouldn't have waited.

This pandemic is forcing everyone out of cities and into nearby suburbs hiking up prices like crazy. At this rate I might as well wait around another 2 years and see if the market corrects itself.

I don't get why people with Payed of mortgages or houses that triple in value just Cash out

and move to somewhere cheap like Mexico or Thailand.

I legit know guys who made 2 million on there house here in Canada. They could literally sell and not work if they went some where cheaper.

It's all meaningless until you cash out. It's like gambling, so many guys will be up 50x their initial buy in but don't get out before it's all gone.

Not saying that will happen here but just saying. You might have bought very close to the top of the market.

There are only 2 possibilities with real estate market right now, 1 - severely overvalued bubble that will burst, 2 - value has decreased over last 1+ year but dollar is worth much less.

I think most people are leaning towards 2 but if wrong and it's actually 1 then you could see a large correction.

It's #2 brah.

The dollar is also a #2, as in a big pile of chit. Fuarking Powell broke the handle off the money printing machine.

TLDR; The Fed fuarked up with low interest rates for so long that the total public debt has made it impossible to raise rates again. The only way out is to make the dollar worthless to essentially cancel out all the debt. We're fooked either way, but this way the rich get to leave with a bang.
