My little sister crashed car while drunk - arrested

She's been on a downward slope with alcoholism for about 4 years. She's 35 years old.

I convinced her to go to rehab last year.

Don't know the circumstances of the accident, except that physically she's ok but financially she's fukked. She bought the car new about 6 months ago. I hope there was no other vehicle involved.

She's now in a position where she will probably lose custody of her sons.

I'm pretty numb right now. Like, I don't feel anything. Not even angry, or sad. Is that normal?

This place (the misc) is weird. I like it here. Thanks for reading.

As someone who struggled with alcoholism in the past I don't see it getting any better for her. If handling your parental responsibilities to your own children isn't a big enough reason to change then I don't think there is much hope. I whole heartedly believe the person alone is the only one who can change their situation.

Drunk drivers should permanently have their license revoked. Imagine losing a parent, spouse or child because they got struck by drunk driver.

Not really. I'm asian and my sister is the same kind of dumbass as OP's sister. She doesn't only drive after drinking, she pours alcohol in her tumblr and drives while drinking. Legit gives no fuks about herself or anyone. I've given up on talking any sense into her and it's depressing, but I'm just waiting for the phone call from the cops one day.

Lol. Well, I can tell you that some Asians have developed degeneracy because they've lived here for too long and have become influenced by the American way of life. Many Asians are disciplined and don't partake in this kind of behavior.
