lack of training. she's been trained and her brain has been conditioned for years to pull out her pistol. whereas she probably has refresher training once a year on using using a tazer.

Change the way tasers look. No reason they should be shaped like guns

Tired of these jogger parents defending their kids. If my kids turned out to be such a chithead, I'd execute him myself.

Pray tell, how should they be shaped? They have a grip and a trigger, that is about it.

That's some smooth brain chit to say lol. Plenty of reasons for them to be shaped like guns. But yeah it should be looked into seriously to see if another shape can be used just as effectively.

Hasn’t she also been a cop for like 10+ years? I get a rookie getting panicked and pulling the wrong weapon...but I saw something saying she’s been on th force a while....just something on Twitter I saw so may be BS.

this was a flight or fight reaction; her brain told her one thing but her body did another.

Yeah, but I see absolutely nothing to protest for. Fire the cop (she already resigned) and that's that.

Placing a taser on the same side as a pistol is retarded to begin with. Whole department over there is a bunch of retards. Can't tell whether the ****lis that live there or the cops are bigger mouth breathers

I agree with that too a point. As a police instructor most officers need more training but when I recommended new and more training especially with full gear on I was looked at like I was going to get the state sued by officers. Once you get qualified with tasers there is no real refresher course like yearly like firearm qualifications.
But also it’s hard to duplicate the stress and adrenaline a officer experiences from real life decision making. We have been upping our sims training which is great but it’s 90%firearms related scenarios.

I also don’t know why she didn’t carry a yellow taser. No doubt in my mind that she wouldn’t have pulled the trigger if the taser she carried was yellow, blue, etc.

Just fire? She killed someone, even if accidentally. Doesnt that usually come with charges?

and ya, i dont know how you can get it wrong. The weight of a loaded gun vs a taser is just so different (unless they got tasers ive never seen before in Minny)

theres no excuse for what she did she held that pistol in her hand for a good 2-3 seconds saying taser taser before shooting and still didnt realize it wasn't the taser

senior officer apparently with 20+ years on the job

towns should really allocate a budget to give officers the chance to train regularly with stress inoculation scenarios

2nd one I'm aware of. They need to change the shape and it needs to be placed center vest.

I bet if it was a dido and only went off by squeezing the balls she would have figured it out.

Thats an easy manslaughter. Give her a couple years and be done with it. No need to burn businesses.

I wasn't there and I don't know this woman so I can't say for certain, but there are two things that are certain....the first being that her account of what happened is plausible and she deserves the presumption of innocence. Second, the burning and looting businesses has nothing to do with justice and everything to do with being a degenerate piece of shyt.
