I don't even remember the last time I had cash bills or coins. I just use my cards.

Even though I barely use cash these days, I still like to have at least like $20 in my pocket and change in my car.

Ever since I lost my wallet on a bus couple of months ago, I stopped carrying cash with me. I only had 80 bucks with me but losing all my IDs and credit cards sucks.

$20 in wallet, $20 in car in case card machines are down, don't accept card (or have a minimum for card), forget/lost wallet.

Have lost wallet before, and losing IDs and cards sucks way more than the cash. I keep a stack of cash and a credit card at the house in case it ever happens again.

Ceremonial $20 in my wallet. Was thinking about it and last one sat there for 6 months so I spent it in a random place so I could grab a new one. I keep a 20 in my car too.


As for losing wallets, losing my drivers L/ID and Credit Cards is way worse that whatever amount of cash I could have in there lol.

And anyways how do I keep comfortable with a front pocket wallet with more than let's say a few folded notes in there

I only ever have cash when I travel because some places don't like to take card but locally I haven't used cash in years so don't bother carrying any. Sure you could have an emergency and need it but I'm not going to carry something around every day just because there is a small percentage chance i might need it once every 5 years lol.

Cash is still king in most of the 2nd / 3rd world countries. Don't think anyone takes Samsung or Apple Pay in those countries. Using a foreign credit likewise might just put you at risk at identity fraud or being charged foreign service fees and currency conversion fees (in addition to bad exchange rates).
