l
This is exactly it. I'm lucking that the lead of our Department (2,000 people) was an economist early in her career and gets it. While Palantir is not an option for us currently, the product would pitch itself to her. The presentations are geared to someone exactly like her. The problem? She is the .1% of technicians that become decision makers (see Marissa Mayer for comparable).

I have tried to explain what palantir does to some of the smartest people I know that have in some cases 9 figure net worth's from business. They don't get Palantir. What they get is "Company ABC implemented Palantir, the systems were up and running within a week with no disruption, supply chain efficiencies reduced costs by X percent, annualized the savings are Z percent over the all-in cost of Palantir and we anticipate even greater profitability results from the work with Palantir". Palantir either hasn't figured this out, or more likely doesn't give a fuk and knows their product fukks.

Plain and simple. Eventually it will undoubtedly crush things, I have full conviction of this (not worth much though, lol), however I really think we may have to follow Karp's fairly direct telegraphing that we gonna get rich as fuk, but it's a hold game.

The robot and taxi investments are thinking 2030+, imagine the data a machine constantly interacting with every movement of a human could produce in combination with all of the biometrics, etc. in the case of exo-skeletons.

Saw him open for D'Elia at JFL Montreal a couple years ago, was fukin hilarious. His random made up 'childhood stories' are always epic. Also his TFATK belt promo while dressed as a 90s wrestler may be the best thing ever recorded.

This is why I keep selling OTM puts on $PLTR every month. The IV on this thing is ridiculously high so I actually still collect a dollar or so on puts I'm selling at like $21-$22 strike prices. That's not quite the ridiculous return some people on here have, but ~4% or so per month on the $10K I have set aside with the only risk being I get assigned shares in a company I believe in after the stock corrects another 10% seems like a pretty asymmetrical trade to the upside to me.

I split the difference on the premium between buying more shares that I can potentially write a covered call against and buying moar $VOO to enjoy stonk market gains in case $PLTR does end up being a chithole company. So far, I'm pretty happy with this trade, but perhaps I'm missing some risk?

I don't mean this negatively at all but as an economist and data scientist leading 2000 people, why are you all in on one stock rather than spreading out the risk over multiple stocks as well as reacting emotionally to small changes in the market? There's so much information out there on the basics of stock market trading including diversification & loss-cutting at around 10%. The dips and increases have been taking place in the market since the beginning of time so delayed gratification & looking at results long-term is an essential part of a business as well as in trading.

^^ This is exactly how most tech products work, specially new ones.

People who are worried about Palantir or expect it to be an overnight success have no idea how tech companies work or appreciate in value (HINT: it doesn't happen over night).

Look up MSFT, AMZN, Okta, Cisco , etc , etc. They all (the stock) took years to 10x and they have simpler products.

Long term holding PLTR is not the same thing as "OMG Red DAY GREEN DAY YOLO I made 5 bucks yesterday"

Haha well I’m glad some good came of this disaster.

You know it’s bad when E*TRADE stops sending you notifications that you have options expiring soon because they already know you’re fukked and it’s not worth the data lol.

And exactly, in two years I honestly think this is how Palantir will get half of its corporate clients.

CEO walks into board meeting

Board: why the fuk aren’t we using this palantir thing?

Cel: huh?

Board: I just got off the phone with X at Z and they said it’s saving them hundreds of millions

CEO: how?

Board: I said saved hundreds of millions, are you trying to bankrupt this company? We can’t compete

CEO: ok, I’ll buy it.

End scene.

The funny thing as well that I don’t think people have put together is Google tricked people into giving them their data so that Google could train their AI and ML (if you don’t know already, AI has and always will be the end game for Google) which is genius. Palantir took this one step further and convinced companies to pay Palantir to let Palantir train its AI and ML on their data lol.

The end game for these companies really is humatrons with neurolinks and hoverboards with human intelligence augmented by AI. A technohuman super race ran by an intellectual leader, a philosopher king.

Hey isn’t Peter Thiel really interested in immortality? Huh.

You don’t know how weird humans can get until you meet with billions and billions of dollars that have conquered most aspects of life. Things get weird fast when you have a God complex, unlimited resources, and you’re bored.

There’s a single New Jersey deli doing $35,000 in sales valued at $100 million in the stock market

The Paulsboro, New Jersey-based Your Hometown Deli is the sole location for Hometown International, which has an eye-popping market value despite totaling $35,748 in sales in the last two years combined, according to securities filings.

β€œSomeone pointed us to Hometown International (HWIN), which owns a single deli in rural New Jersey ... HWIN reached a market cap of $113 million on February 8. The largest shareholder is also the CEO/CFO/Treasurer and a Director, who also happens to be the wrestling coach of the high school next door to the deli. The pastrami must be amazing,” Einhorn said in a letter to clients published Thursday.

anyway knowledge is always welcome maybe someone will have use for it. this sounds like its for full time traders.

I would be 99 percent sure, nobody is day trading full time here, have regular day jobs. (perk working from home for now I have two free monitors so I can have feed running while writing code on one)
Its too hard to get in his trades so i stopped. I got to my goal of 10k off him so im happy but im trying to make this a skill i can learn so i can potentially do it fulltime on my own. Reading textbooks and paper trading right now. If i can actually get decent as a day trader that would be blessed.

They should video tape one of their subs rolling down a hill, would have that stock going parabolic.
