Anyone else regret getting their wisdom teeth removed?

I didn’t have any pain or anything before, but my dentist recommended I get all 4 removed, which I did. Feels like a scam, removing teeth humans have had their entire existence

da fuk? Why would your dentist recommend getting them removed if there were no problems? Obviously trying to make money, but still wtf. My dentist told me I would never need mine removed.

I started catching on to dentists scams with caps and root canals.

Sure if my tooth gets infected or whatever i get the root canal and cap. But then he said "you should get this other tooth capped, because in the future yada yada yada."


Been over 6 years and tooth is still fine




They only pull this BS on people with good dental coverage it seems, after talking with some friends.


Yes. That same scammer had me remove my wisdom teeth, to save me from "future problems"

I had pain in my jaw for a couple weeks but it wasn’t that bad with the painkillers lol

Worst part was washing out the fresh wounds where your wisdom teeth were. I got them removed 4 years ago idk why I’m thinking about it now I don’t even notice it

Kind of rare when wisdom teeth come in straight.
Most of the time, they cause issues REGARDLESS of having pain on the day of extraction.

Had all of mine removed recently. Have had actual pain before from them coming in during rare but memorable occurrences some years ago. They were super impacted and had to go. I remember there was a taste of decay at the back of my mouth all the time, for YEARS, if I put the tongue back there, always wondered if I had some chronic crappy breath from it. It was something I dreaded, feared, and for most of the years I had delayed it it was something I also couldn't afford. Stopped going to the dentist routinely for essentially 5 or 6 years. Finally did something about it recently and I don't regret getting it done at all. Its been like 5 months though and I still have gaps/sockets in two of the wisdom teeth slots, so I find myself rinsing my mouth daily to ensure there's no bits of food or particles back there. Recommend everyone to do it ASAP if they're clearly pharked/impacted, so you don't phark up your other teeth, and because it'll be an easier recovery to do it sooner than later.

I had pain when they were growing in but it wasn’t bad and they grew in straight, but my dentist recommended it

yes am US. Well my dentist is an old guy, and old doctors are goat. He told me "if they're not causing any problems then you don't need them removed"

For some people it’s obviously needed but wtf 5 months? I only had to use the water squirter thing for 2-3 weeks before the wounds closed up if I remember correctly

Sometimes I do. Most of the time, going through life I never really needed them and didn't miss them. But now that I'm grown, theres just so many questions that I wish I had the answers too

Only had one growing in sideways, had only that one removed 20yrs ago. Of course they wanted to remove all of them, told them nah, just that one.

Yeah I only used that for the first 3-4 weeks. I think mine had grown in too far, to the point of breaking through the jaw bone... so they had to do bone grafting. The surgeon thought I'd only need it on one side, but I think there's a slight gap on the other side that it was omitted from. Not a big deal though tbh.

Mine came out sideways and would scrape my cheek and made my mouth really uncomfortable. Best decision I made was removing them.

I think they can cause your other teeth to become crooked.

I was suppose to get them out at 19 but decided not. Never wanted to after that just cause I don’t like the thought of my teeth pulled out,mit was bad enough when i was a kid.

My friend just got his out, doesn’t seem fun lol

2 of mine were fuked so I just had them take all 4 since they were in there already. Recovery went fine. 10 years ago and no issues since. No ragerts.

Nah I had the top ones a bit longer than I probably should have and I was glad when I finally got them out. I had the bottom two removed when I was a kid because they would have grown in all weird.

Dentist are such bull**** artists. One wanted me to pull out a tooth and have it completely replaced by an expensive ceramic tooth costing thousands out of pocket.

Got a second opinion and all I needed was a 1 week course of antibiotics to clear the infection costing $0 with insurance. To this day I am still completely fine after taking the antibiotics.

If I listen to the first shyster I would have to replace it every 10-15 years for the rest of my life. Dentistry is such a racket. All you need is a dental cleaning once in a while and that will prevent 99% of any tooth problems.
