i guess what they do with us depends on how common we are.

If species like us are common (and i would have to say we are very rare ) maybe 1 in 1 million suns, or less, still that means 200 thousand in this galaxy alone

if our galaxy is 60,000 light years across and 10,000 light years thick as an oblong disc you would find a civilization like us approximately every 1 or 2 light years in any direction mathematically speaking but we are in one of the spiral arms where stars are very sparse, the conditions for life are ideal here
