Dropped off Mr. Labrador at the animal shelter yesterday.(Happy Friday Thread)

-Driving to the gym. I see this pupper on the side of a busy road just walking around by himself.

-Blocked the road so that the cars behind me wouldn’t go through for a few seconds.

-Picked up the passenger in the pics below. Had a collar and a scarf around his neck so obviously belonged to someone.

-Called the county animal shelter but they weren’t able to send anyone to pick him up.

-Drove 45 mins to the animal shelter with the pupper riding shotty.

-He had one of those implanted chips so hopefully he will find his way home.

-Happy Friday

Shelters can be dicey. I hope they find the owner because shelters usually won't keep unclaimed dogs for more than a couple of weeks.

why didn't you just find out the owner via chip and return him? probably close to wherre you found the dog. maybe a reward maybe not but at least you wouldn't have unintentionally put the dog on death row if his owners dont come for him.

years ago saw a couple trying to get rid of a beautiful dog for free to a good home cuz it was old (like the one in the OPs pic). it was a mexican guy and his white uggo wife. i woulda taken him but i already had 2 dogs.

never forgot about it because I remember seeing the dog when he was a pup. they were abandoning the dog cuz he was old. hopefully this isn't what happened with your dog.

don't mean to bring the thread down but maybe follow up on the dog if you can.

I do it from the heart not rewards. I wouldn’t be able to sleep if I didn’t do something.

As for going around and knocking on doors, I tried doing that with these two that I picked up back in December. Walked around the neighborhood in the middle of Covid trying to see if anyone knew those two.



They were able to find the owner with the chip, but that’s where the problem is with other people. How many people would ask for a reward or no pupper? It’s a crazy world out there. And everybody expects something for something these days...And whether or not the owner decided to abandon the dog (which I highly doubt because it’s a nice neighborhood and a decent county), he’s better off at an animal shelter than walking around the streets.

Dogs get lost in my town a lot so this has happened here before.

Good job, OP.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*

I done it a few times. once i drove around with the dog and looked for open garage doors. Asked homeowners if it was their dog and didn't help but later I called the local police dept and someone reported their dog was lost and came to pick up at my house. I didn't ask for a reward when the person came.

Other times the dog had a tag and just got out of their yards. returned them home safely

Yeah, a lot of people just let their dog out in the backyard and after a while the dog will find a way out to explore. Unfortunately, no tag on this one. I actually waited for about 15 minutes with my hazards on thinking that maybe someone would show up. No luck.
