The NPD Group's latest report compiled from retail data across the industry says that PS5 is the fastest-selling both in terms of unit and dollar sales - meaning it has sold the most consoles and made the most money doing it - in any console's first five months on the US market. Video game hardware sales totaled $680 million in March, finally breaking the record of $552 million set back in March 2008 (when the Wii's breakthrough sales success was still at its peak).

We'll see how it goes. I was adamant on getting both series x and ps5 this gen. Got the xbox. Only reason I don't have a ps5 is because it's been sold out.

Honestly both consoles are really lacking killer apps right now, but at least the Xbox has Gamepass going for it and better backwards compatibility.

Well it's being heavily driven by the scalper market right now. I would accuse them of artificial scarcity if it wasn't for the fact that the whole gaming industry has been hit hard by production issues.

Have you ever tried comparing the price of the latest gaming PC's against a Series X? You are paying many times more for marginally better performance that will get outdated far quicker.

Scalpers, it's always been scalpers and it always will be scalpers until they get their supply issues fixed. The fact that Nintendo is barely able to meet demand for the Switch right now speaks volumes about how crazy the current computer/gaming hardware situation is, as well as how hard it is to get high-end graphics cards right now. I figured they would have worked it out by now but that definitely isn't the case, they might get it together by the holiday season though.

It's still selling out in seconds. Many retailers have resulted to selling bundles... and it's selling out instantly still.

Multiple tracking websites for it, multiple twitter accounts post for when it pops up. It's crazy.

Can someone aware me on ps5? Is it pretty neat.jpeg? They only reason I would ever get one is for battlefield 6. Probably won't though.

One of the key contributing factors with ps5 is guilty gear strive.

Of all the systems. The ps has the largest hands down fighting community outside of smash. But, Nintendo doesn’t have a big community for the rest of the fighters thanks to their netcode.

Because of COVID, a lot of the pro gamers are moving to PC because the frame rates are the absolute closest they can get to in person and the pros are desperately trying to keep their edges.

Enter GG Strive.

It’s one of the first games to feature the roll back netcode in fighting. On top of that, most fighting games focus on the older system than the new one. Arc systems went into GG this time anticipating the ps5 and prepared for it. So they are pushing the fgc folks onto a new system faster. Especially with how amazing that game performed at the beta level a month ago.

In all honesty, I’m getting a ps5 for GG Strive but I live fighters.

And a 3060 pc is $1200
And u can use the pc for other stuff
It should last 5 years if not more
Especially since idgaf about gfx and can play on low
