What is the biggest mistake you've done in your life (so far)?

You know that bad thing that when it occurs, your anxiety spikes through the roof and your chest hurts? You can't sleep?

When did this happen to you and what was it?

Propecia and spending my mid 20's in a relationship that i knew wasnt going anywhere
"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

Drinking too much.

Been sober for 6 years, best decision ever. Every aspect of my life has been better since I stopped.

Once I told a girl “mad props” on a date and she said “what?”

I still cringe about that and have never gotten past it.

Constantly bailing out family members. After awhile you just have to let them learn their lesson. Otherwise they will just keep draining money off of you.

You goofed hard. Federal government positions are easy street. Basically a job for life with guaranteed raises, benefits and retirement. Starting pay is low but for the amount of work you have to put in, it is generous.

Associating with the wrong classes of people

Seriously focus on reaching a suitably exclusive situation more as much as you can. You would not believe how bad and destructive some people below you are.

Taking a lot of psychedelics when younger. Can still feel the after effects 18 years later, though nowhere near as bad as when I first stopped.

I wish I had started investing sooner.

Fresh our of college I was living rent free with my parents making an accountant's salary. I was blowing my money on dumb pointless chit (like cars and fancy clothes) and partying.

Could have invested half my income into an index fund with an 8-12% annual return.

I'm well aware. When I left, I was making over $25/hr at 20/21 years old and was being groomed for management. And you should have seen some of the **** I saw people get away with there without being fired. The misc would fukking implode if I mentioned some of the race/EEO stuff I saw go on as well.

Yeah I knew this lady who was gifted a director's position just because of her seniority and the fact that she was available. Gov jobs like to promote within. Basically she does nothing and clears a fat check.

It is crazy how some people can luck into high paying jobs with no real skills or education. Meanwhile other people grind for decades only to die poor.

Terrible idea. Really, joining the military ASAP is a great idea. It keeps you clean and protected from more nonsense than you could probably do, otherwise, unless you're a 0.01% person overall- connections, talent, looks, etc.
