What's wrong with you? Why would you go to a Dr to be checked out? What made you think something was wrong?

There multiple meds for add too, everyone responds different too them.

I don't take meds though.

If you have a diagnosis of ADHD and a proper assessment was done, medication can help with focus and attention but there are lots of tools and environmental modifications/considerations that can also be really helpful.

I was never diagnosed with anything and they still gave me Ritalin, you dance the jig, and then they bump you up if it's clear you aren't a crash dummy.

ADD is a symptom of improper parenting, and poor lifestyle, in most cases.

A lot of people don't seem to get a proper assessment if you believe miscers.

Not a slam OP, but if you feel that you are ND, but not ADD, read up on ASD. It isn't really like what is shown in most media. Read some first person accounts written by adults that have been diagnosed.

Just a thought since you say that the meds increased your anxiety and anxiety/OCD are often experiences by people with ASD.

i'll try to sum it up.

- trouble keeping my concentration
- forgetfulness
- get bored really really easily (ive done a chit ton of studies/ sports and hobbies)
- no discipline even after i tried everything and pushed myself too many times.
- always tired, my body just wants to lay down the whole day
- i overthink everything and my head is always busy thinking. the thinking isnt clear tho, its like i keep running in circles
- brain fog
- distracted easily
- get overstimulated easily
- i need more rest than other people
- i dont finish alot of stuf
- i have trouble switchting from task to task. i'd prefer doing the same thing a day. for example. work where i do paperwork on monday and do the practical work or meetups on tuesday
- chaotic mind

yes i tried the dutch version of adderal (Dexamfetamine) (dutch brah checking in)
it messes with me man and it never gave me the concentration to do my homework. just a bit placebo thats all.

i also found out the place where i got my diagnosis is kinda controversial. they did an undercover research on it.

the assessment looked very professional and a bit high tech yet i was surprised almost every single person that walked in got a diagnosis. makes me wonder?

also, i agree with you on having certain tools and lifestyle modifications to help you.

do you mean that certain circumstances (e.g. growing up poor) can be traumatic and trigger add/adhd genetics in people that have genetic predispostion for mental ilnesses?

Fuk. I was reading this thinking it sounds an awful lot like me.

But I see it as symptomatic of leading a life where I have to do a lot of **** that I don’t really want to be doing.

Seriously, if you go through that list you’ll notice that most of it is stuff that would be a natural response to a lack of interest.

Also, all of these symptoms disappear when i’m doing stuff Igenuinelywant to be doing.

ADHD & the Interest-Based Nervous System It scatters attention unevenly, and activates focus only under certain circumstances. That's because the ADHD nervous system is interest-based, rather than importance- or priority-based. People with ADHD often say: “When I get in the zone, I can accomplish anything.”

Anxiety is a possibility. The symptoms of ADD overlap with the symptoms of other problems. And you can be diagnosed with multiple issues.

Many of the symptoms of ADD overlap with the symptoms of childhood trauma. Experiencing childhood trauma doesn't mean that your parents were "bad" or abusive. You may have been traumatized by events out of your parents control, or your parents may have simply not been up to the job vs. actively negligent in some way.

https://www.childdevelopmentclinic.c...ex-trauma.html

Childhood trauma can occur before you are even born. I know that my mother had a stressful pregnancy and that my birth was traumatic (cord wrapped around my neck 3X).

https://www.steampoweredfamily.com/b...ldhood-trauma/

As I mentioned before ITT there is also overlap between ADD and ASD.

Much of what you describe can also be attributed to poor sleep, or insufficient sleep.

http://myscienceschool.org/index.php...ugh-sleep.html

Then on top of that ADD and ASD individuals usually suffer from some type of ongoing sleep difficulty.

https://www.cambridge.org/core/journ...F79BBD3B43505F

It is frustrating trying to unravel amorphous health issues that can be attributed to multiple causes.

Simple question then....
How is your focus and concentration, does your mind "jump" around from topic to topic barely finishing one completely. That is what the folks that I know with it exhibit as symptoms.
The brain shifts from topic to topic never finishing one completely.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!
