Looked at the volume on a bunch of spacs. Volume is literally almost nothing. Entire SPAC market is a dam ghost town rn LOL
Yeah volume is brutal. CCIV was hitting 100M volume every day in January and now its like 1/10 of that.

I'm looking at fairly big name SPACs and they've got 20-50k volume for the entire day thus far. That is nuts

Time to moon lmao. Bet we start seeing SPACs announce any day now

It started affecting my real job because I just couldnt take seeing so much of my account getting destroyed even after what seemed to be the bottom.

I guess I’m not too bummed because I still exited with a 55% gain on my initial investment. But at my all time high I was at 240% gain.

There is always more money to be made.

What kind of debt mostly? If revolving and more than 10% interest, why not pay off that sooner? Makes the stock market so much more enjoyable knowing you have no debt that is kicking your ass on the backside. Plus the additional risk from the market. That would drive me crazy.

I'm sitting on $143k mortgage debt at 3% on a 40 year lol. I don't see any point paying off my house anytime in the next few years. Inflation will be my friend.

Holding 600 shares at $17 until death. Learned my lesson and should have sold when it was $40+. Waiting for Lucid to start producing..

Don't feel bad about CCIV we all left enormous gains on the table except Tennis. I had 6700 shares @12.65 and limp dick sold at 33ish.

Damn, that's still around a 161% gain before taxes.

I'd say that was a pretty good risk minimizing move considering where it's at now. Could have bought it today and yesterday for a new position and still bank in the next 2-3 years.

I went from up 276% and now up 14% lmao.

No taxes in TFSA accounts here so all of the gains were tax free just hurt a) watching it go to 60 and b) knowing originally I was going to go all in warrants around 3.70 and they went to like 45.

All my debt is 0% interest except my 401k loan, but I had a goal of being debt free by my birthday in a few months and now thats gone a bit sideways. Will have about $5k debt at 0% then. Just want to make sure the debt is gone because the market could tank and set me back a year or so. Its less about interest and more about risk for me.

And yea, it must feel much easier stress wide to trade with money that you aren’t relying on to pay off debts or survive. I probably wouldnt have sold if I didnt have debts to clear.
This is more or less why I may seem stress free even bagholding 6 figures of red right now, I have no debt except for the 14K I leveraged on my LOC to buy stocks and that's 4%/yr and I'm still up around 100K including this IPOF bag.

Honestly FTOC 5/21 $10C for $25/contract seems pretty good. Could easily double assuming we get something of a bounce or some sort of news in the next month or so.

That is just with cciv, once lucid starts producing and things are finalized with the merger I'm guessing it will shoot back up. Probably take some profits when it gets back around $40-50 a share, if it does. Luckily don't need the cash right now so don't mind waiting.

Gotcha, then makes sense why it you put it in the market rather than paying off debt. That's not much, I would have done the same.

Private loans are the devil. And tbh I don't think Biden is gonna forgive mine since he will likely put income limits on forgiveness which is stupid. Although I'd potentially consider either quitting my job or taking a leave of some sort if I had to lower my yearly income enough to qualify and it would be totally worth it. I've got the money sitting in commons... I could just live on that and not work for a few months and I'd be down for it lmao

You can't trade some securities within a TFSA, pink sheets for example. Outside of that the only real hindrance is the amount that you're allowed to contribute yearly into the account, gains within the account are tax free though.

So the first issue is that I lost all my 2021 gains. That was partly my own fault with how I managed the situation, and partly due to the market itself. I thought I was making safe choices by going deep into SPACs since the floor is $10, but I never thought the market would actually get so bad that we end up at $9.70-$9.80 for so many SPACs.

What pushed me over the edge was constantly seeing red for months on end. I had maybe 10-15 open positions and every day I would see loss, loss, and more loss. This is while I was sitting on margin. I was dumbfounded to wake up seeing -2%, -5%, -6%, etc so many times. And the reason that happened was because every other day or every few days we would go back in the green, only to go back in the red again. Psychologically messed with me.

Anyways, the reason I'm done for now is because I've started dipping into money that I can't afford to lose. If interest rates do rise to a significant extent, I can't afford to lose when the big guys pull out. It started affecting my ability to focus at work as well, so I need a break.

In 3 months I'll have cleared all my debt or within $5k left, and at that point I'll probably start adding.

Edit: I am thinking about leaving $5k in there and just playing it safe with covered calls. Better than nothing I suppose? I still think PSFE will do well during earnings in a few weeks, and that MARA will recover eventually.
dang brah, that's rough. And I get it. You are doing the responsible thing. Didn't realize you were on margin. That would for sure eat away at me. If you're willing to put in $5k, you should look into PMCC's. Can be fun and keeps you engaged (if you DONT want to check on the market, then I don't recommend lol)

Margin is tricky, I was curious how much I was being charged a month back and combed through my statements and it was not even close to $150/month.. more like $15, so I thought eh no big deal, there must be some complex math behind it, like how certain stocks require more margin than others. Had no idea I was actually paying that much.

I'm still trading on my dad's account, and tbh that's so much more relaxing. No worries if chit dips, because he doesn't need the money back anytime soon. That's how it should be done, I goofed trading on debt money + margin lmao.

I'll have to look into PMCCs. Seems complex from a cursory look but it probably isn't.
I've switched my common sells from first in first out to last in first out. Hoping that my ETAC and CRHC commons will get to the 1 year mark and I'll have capital gains instead of short term. Ideally all my warrants are going to become the long leg on my PMCCs once the PRE-DA companies I'm holding merge. Would be HNNNNNG if I can just hold these fukers I'm buying at 70-99 cents a warrant and eventually sell $12.5, $15, or $17 CC against them and basically make my warrant purchase money back every freakin month for up to 3-5 years

Interest Rate x Margin Debit / 360 = Daily Interest Charge

TDA rates vary based on the amount of margin being used, but let's just say you had $25k on margin, it would be 9%. So every day it's on margin, you are being charge $6.25, so $150 would take 24 days of $25k being on margin.

as for PMCC's, to make it as simple as possible there are two ways to go about it depending on your style and ability to manage.
Spoiler!

1) buydeepITM LEAPs. What I would look for is a price point around half of what it's trading at, because you are as close to the trading value as possible at that point, and you are getting "twice" as much leverage than just the shares. This is safer because at expiration of the long position, there is a better chance your option will still have value and youcouldexercise.

2) go hella aggressive and buy ATM LEAPs. Should be able to get 3 times as many for roughly the same price. Downside is if you chose a sideways trading stock, the long will lose value progressively quicker and will most likely result in a worthless long position. BUT you can farm and farm and farm premiums and basically work with the knowledge of the long being worthless, but you are collecting all the short premiums. This requires a good amount of management. I am doing this with RKT currently, but may have been overly aggressive. Time will tell.

How about the strategy of PMCC with warrants? Do you think my plan is viable or nah?

My main concern is that obviously "ITM" with warrants means the underlying has to be at least $11.5 for them to start having intrinsic value. So I don't think I could dare sell $10 CCs because I could get wrecked on those I think... otherwise I think I should be good assuming $12.5 are somewhat close to the current common price

Agree. I was thinking about putting some in crypto but you just know now your be late to the party. The gains will be measly as the big gains have already been made.

Just crazy if you had a few shares of DOGE you would have made triple digits since last year!

But crypto is getting mighty popular. With the stock market being butchered it doesn't really bode well for new young investors, they will probably head to crypto instead!

Has less to do with GME and more to do with market collapse
How do you read that and presume market crash? If anything, to me, it says the opposite. The situation is completely opposite of the problem we had in 2008 regardless of whatever that idiot posted. The fact he wrote alllllll that up and at the end his conclusion was "Buy GME" is mostly retarded. The fact of the matter is there is more money in our system and more liquidity than ever before. Money is legitimately becoming more and more worthless each day and it is noticeable EVERYWHERE. Everything is about to get a lot more expensive to buy and no one even cares because there are more dollars in their bank accounts than they've had in the previous few years and they feel comfortable. So he is partially right that buying equities is probably smart, but I'd rather buy profitable or big growth companies instead of GME.

But seriously have you tried to book a flight in the last few months? Go book a flight you've made in the last 2-3 years and see how the price compares to previous. I promise it probably costs 2-3x whatever you used to pay for it.
Go order food somewhere. I used to get Qdoba and I think it used to cost like $8 for a meal and now its almost $10.
Do you enjoy powersports? Try and buy a new or used dirt bike, boat, jetski, RV, or snowmobile. All prices have gone up across the board.
Like buying vehicles? Try buying a used car or truck prices have been going up for the last year or so for used vehicles. There is a thread in the automotive section about it. There are a ton of people in there that have noticed it as well.

If anything this at least makes me more confident that new companies coming to market are going to run up fairly hard so as long as the SPAC management teams can get a moderately good valuation SPACs should continue to remain viable for the foreseeable future.

Hmmm Gik merger approved so ZEV is going to be the new ticker within the next 30 days. IMO there is big potential for those $10 calls... 30% of shares got redeemed
