Looking for good/decent running sneakers, Misc.

Happy Friday!

I figured I’d ask the misc running experts. Looking for something light and comfortable. Size 13, slender foot.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Not a lot between the major brands imo. I prefer lighter pairs and because I'm a forefoot striker (run on the balls of my feet) I like a bigger heel. Have gotten a lot of mileage out of mizuno wave inspire 16s over the past 3 years.

The very best runner I know (ran the Boston marathon and is a pace setter in local runs) goes ultra minimalist. Light and flat.

It depends on you, try a few on and see what feels good to you.

I read a lot a out different type(I prefer heavily cushioned for my knees. Injured it from jiu jitsu) of running shoes.

Light ones, get Nike Zoom Pegasus(light and aesthetic) or Free. If you are boycotting Nike, get Asics Cumulus.

Currently I'm using Reebok Forever Floatride Energy. Best running shoe I've had in a long while. In recent years I've tried Saucony Kinvara's and Freedom ISO's and Nike Epic Reacts and I prefer these Reebok's, despite them being cheaper than any of the other more expensive shoes I've used.

But what shoe is best it really down to the individual. One person will love one shoe and another will hate it. Really depends upon your running style and personal preferences. Some like to run on the forefoot, some on the midfoot, some are heel strikers. Some prefer a cushioned shoe while others like me prefer a firmer more responsive ride. Best thing is to go to a running specialist store if you can a try on a bunch of shoes and see what you like.

OHP - 134lbs

do you have runner's labs near you? don't know if they have them all over the world, but in my country there's plenty. What they do is make a recording of your steps while running, play it in slow motion to see which part of your foot lands first. based on that they decide which running shoe would be best for you, preventing injuries etc.

I like the 21 Ultraboosts. Hated the old style, but these are great for running.

Proper running shoes require having a store look at what your foot does( points straight/leans in/leans out) and letting you try on shoes depending what they find. If you tell us the town we can point you in the right direction of a special store that does this. Imagine buying a 100 dollar shoe and it isnt for your type of foot.

instead of getting something light that will make running as easy as possible, why not get some heavy boots to make running more difficult and increase the intensity to get into better shape?

It is best to go to a proper running shoe store where they will do a gait analysis. I always have good luck with brooks for the brand of my shoes.

The main reason why is because it can one make running easier with the proper footwear designed for your stride but mostly because it can prevent injuries as there are three main different styles of support for running shoes. Some store offer a quick free gait analysis FYI.

Lately I’ve been enjoying alternating between my Adidas Adizeros and my Merrell Vapor Gloves. I run about 25mi a week between track/trail and treadmill, no pavement.
