Just watched a video of a man feeding a woman in an Indian hospital cow urine. Because it's supposed to have healing properties. She's on a ventilator.

If that doesn't tell you why India is going to go down hard on COVID, nothing will.

Cases erupted this month & keep going up but the deaths account for < 1% of new cases, even less on their daily reports.

Theyre at like 300,000 new cases & 2000 deaths yesterday. We'll see if the "two more weeks" doomsdayers opinions about covid "ripping through populations" will come to pass because right now with a double triple quadruple mutation virus, they're still less than 1% deaths.

Obv the healthcare issue is a separate one.

What I’m thinking. Most congested country with poor sanitation and barely heard a thing from there the last year. I assumed their immune systems had developed to be too strong for it. But just as we seem to be coming out of the pandemic we have record numbers.

Overpopulation is the main cause of everything going to ****. Overfishing, burning our forests, running out of resources and destroying eco system. No hippie but I honestly do not understand what the fuk this people are thinking.
60 years ago, India had 400m people, now they have 1.4 billion and about to overtake China as the biggest nation. Covering only 2% of world's landmass, it is absolutely filled with people, living in complete poverty. I don't understand how you could be living in complete poverty and still logically want to have so many children?!?! This people have no one to blame but themselves.

indians don't believe in social distancing.

in that region, where most don't believe in covid or vaccines, are mainly poor people who hang out by the thousands in the streets, festivals, religous temples, etc. Many don't even wear masks.

It's a perfect storm.

Of course govt - which is focusing more on oxygen (it is important still) - but refuses to tell people to "stay at home, social distance" or enforces it.

Images of thousands of people in a market is blowing us westerners away. They still aren't social distancing.

I wouldn't be surprised if everything is extremely decentralised and managed locally. Hospitals probably operate independently of each other and there is no centralised record keeping or inventory figures on a national level.
