Unemploymentcels say they'll miss COVID and brags about unemploymentbux (ragefuel)

"I will miss covid, in many ways it saved me financially.

I am personally far better off than I was before covid, and for the first time, earned enough to afford a middle class lifestyle.

Even at the reduced $300 weekly boost, I am at over 100% wage replacement, and have no reason to accept a crummy full time position until
boosted UI ends in September.

The problems with the economy existed before the pandemic, and this last year and a half has helped forgotten people like myself."

"I hate going back to work. I love unemployment. I made more money from employment than actually working"

There's a reason why so many want to keep the lockdowns going.

You can't blame them. These poor, retarted leeches don't understand the long term consequences of anything. If 2/3's of america can't even keep their health in check, how are they supposed to figure out that they are actually meant to be a useful, functioning part of the system?

Well on the other side of the argument there are a ton of openings out there, and they all have absolute chit pay. Keep seeing the same openings week after week after week, obviously nobody is applying and employers aren't getting their heads out of their asses and making an effort to be competitive.

Glassdoor just recommended me for some job that requires a 4 year degree, starting pay is 46k/year. I have seen this opening pop up a few times the past two months and the employer isn't trying to sweeten the deal. If this is a microcosm of the job market in total, I would agree stick with unemployment for as long as you can. It's ridiculous to think employees should acquiesce to a job market that wants to undervalue them.

Biden's America.

Meanwhile, in China, some 14 yr old is pulling an all-nighter studying for his calculus test so that he can get the highest score in the class and have a chance at a middle-class lifestyle when he is older. 30 yr old "college educated" employment USA brah, on the other hand, doesn't even understand the most basic of economics.

We are so fukked.

This is actually a good point. If the democrats actually "worked for the ppl" like they claim, they would amend the tax code to penalize excessive exec comp (even moreso than it already does) and incentivize higher employment wages. But they don't and they won't.

I get keeping the unemployment benefits going. What I don't understand is the extra supplemental income. A lot of businesses are having a difficult time filling their work place because of these retarded boosts. So stupid.

The exec comp argument is retarded. The idea that Exec compensation is suppressing wages is not based in reality.

If you take the average megacorp CEO and give his ENTIRE compensation package to workers it would be like 10 cents an hour difference.

It's interdasting I'm a republican, think the covid thing is absolute bull****, yet I agree with this. It just doesn't make any sense. You would think in a free market businesses would want to be competitive, but they aren't.

Haha yeah I'm fine with the unemployment I am getting; I really don't need the supplemental money. I sure as **** am not giving it back, tho. Just saying it's not needed, and I'm not sure why they think it is.

And whats wrong with that?
For the first time in history the system that's always favoured oligarchs is giving some scraps to the plebs and you get mad at them? Even tho the oligarchs have been getting ABSURDLY richer during the pandemic?
How does this affect you personal? Inb4 you say but "muh taxes" So It's Ok when the oligarchs hide trillions in offshore accounts and when their companies get bailed out WITH YOUR MONEY but it's wrong when an avg. pleb gets some bucks

LMAO @ the pathetic levels of ideological cuckoldry here

We have had a form of UBI going on for over a year now. This is something that always had to happen as automation and AI takes over. Just chill out, everything will be ok. It's a growing pain of humanities rapid tech advancement.

What happaned to not taking fraud seriously? I thought it was a felony to lie to the government. Each week you are supposed to have applied for several jobs and document links to where you applied, and you cannot decline any job offers. Start prosecuting these *******s.

It's one of those situations that it would cost more to catch the fraud then you gain stopping it. It is stupid easy to just sit on UE but I don't know what the solution is as long as the program exists.

Yeah this is pretty obvious, and it's the main reason the dems seem to want to keep Covid going forever.

The democratic party are experts at creating special interest groups from which they can harvest a steady supply of votes (see: blacks, gays, trannies, SJWs, etc). They don't care about what's actually best for the country, they care about staying in power. They latched onto the pandemic, blew it way out of proportion in order to emphasize it as an emergency, and promised that they were the party with the solutions to keep you and your family safe (this is EXACTLY the same playbook they used with global warming). By enforcing lockdowns they made a good chunk of the citizenry dependent upon the government and people like Andrew Yang are using the stimulus as an example to back the idea of a universal basic income. Both the stimulus and UBI are clear examples of the democratsliterally paying people for votes.

Now that vaccines are available (like Trump promised, to which Biden called him a liar), notice that the dems are pushing a narrative that you still have to social distance and wear a mask even when vaccinated. It's obvious the dems want the pandemic to go on forever because it helps them consolidate power.
And relief washes over me in an awesome wave

Curious where you get that stat from and how that would change if you take the entire comp of the entire C suite plus board members (who literally get paid 400k+ a year to attend a few meetings and rubber stamp whatever is put in front of them and serve on like 10 boards at a time)? And fine, even if that resulted in only a slight pay bump, let's also tax personal income marginal tax rates of $5MM+ a year higher, and add tax breaks for corporations that pay higher wages to their rank and file.

I'm not a tax policy maker, so I'm sure someone who is reasonably intelligent can poke holes in the above if they wanted to. But my point is that there are things that can be done to fix / incentivize fixing the massive pay gap between the top and the middle class.

Why you want to defend exec compensation anyways?

Haha no not at all. I am making the point that we are fukked. USA is on a diet of pure soy while china is working overtime to overtake the USA. It is only a matter of time.
