5 months into my 3,168 graft FUT “strip method” hair transplant. (Pics)
https://imgur.com/gallery/Ah7oS5I
Just need someone to embed them for me and I’ll rep for life.
The first pic is of my hairline the night after the surgery. You can see the blood spots marking where my new hairline is gonna be.

Second and third pics are a couple months in.
The crown takes much longer to grow in so it’s still early on that part of my scalp.

The next pic is of my hairline today. 5 months in. It’s gonna keep growing thicker too and max out at 1-1.5 years. The crown takes longer to come in because the skin is thicker there but I’m extremely happy with the hairline even so early.

Last pic is the back of my head where they took out an ear to ear slice of skin. The doctor was a goddamn artist though and stitched it up so well you can barely see it. I have brown concealer spray I can use but don’t feel the need to unless I’m going to some event.

Went with Bosley. Here’s a link to the doctor.
https://www.bosley.com/hair-transpla...-m-alpeter-jr/
Cost me 14k and I’d do it all over again.
I was at a Norwood 4 and shaved my head as a test to see how I’d look and took the Nope Train to FukThatVille. My melon is just too big to rock the bald look.
I’m on TRT and will never ever roll the dice on propecia so a second transplant is likely needed 5-10 years down the line and I’m cool with it.

I do PRP treatments and have a laser cap I use every other day. Won’t do finasteride and I’ve tried Minoxidil/Rogaine and it does age your face so I stopped that too. I’ll use everything else though.

My crown was worse than my hairline. Maybe about 2.5 inches in diameter. I could and still do conceal it with Toppik hair building fibers. But you can’t use that stuff on the hairline because you need your real hair to “sandwich” it in on the perimeters. But the doctor knows how pattern baldness works and performed accordingly by adding more grafts further out on my crown so that if I continue to bald along the perimeter, it won’t look like an island of hair.
I was scheduled to have 2500 grafts done with FUE but switched to FUT a week before the procedure. Because you get better quality AND quantity with FUT. if you can just get past the scar, it’s really a no-brainer. The survivability rate of FUT grafts is higher than that of FUE grafts. And I got 3,168 grafts instead of 2500. AND I preserved plenty of donor hair in the back with FUT for future transplants. FUE destroys your donor hair area in the back.

And I only started TRT a few months ago oddly enough. It’ll probably speed up the balding of my non-transplanted hairs but I don’t mind. PRP and Laser cap will buy me time. And I’ll get that second transplant when needed. And if someday I run out of donor hair, I’ll just get a wig/toupee. But for the next 10-15 years I should be good before I gotta go that route.

you did the right thing, you'd scare little kids with your bald look but i still think you could pull off bald if you grow your beard really long and go full shaven with a few tats. Looks good mang, never considered transplant since i have a nice shaped head

Yea I’m the perfect candidate for propecia since I’m on TRT the odds of negative sexual side effects for me are even lower. I just think DHT is too important to suppress.
I do PRP treatments and have a laser cap I use every other day. Won’t do finasteride and I’ve tried Minoxidil/Rogaine and it does age your face so I stopped that too. I’ll use everything else though.

OP I don't think I can see the photos for some reason.
Just FYI. I had a hair transplant about ~14 months ago and the hairs are STILL growing in / getting thicker where they were transplanted. The whole process takes a LONG time.
Good luck and hope you get the results you are looking for.

turkey costs about 2,500 tbh. but thats besides the point
Bosley is a fuk up. They push the FUT method which is a scam. Good hair places wont even offer fut... fue technology has progressed so much and the needle is so small that after a week you can no longer see any indication of anything taking place on the back of your head...whereas now with fut you have a permanent scar
Bosley in particular pushes FUT because its easier for them and they want to present a "cheaper price" and cycle patients in and out

also, if you want to dramatically accelerate your results look locally for a place to do 3 PRP treatments
Not only does it increase the success of the transplanted hairs (not all the hairs you transplanted will grow... many will fail) but it will accelerate growth, improve recovery and look of the scalp, and potentially add additional hair density even in spots where you didn't do an implant.
Three sessions should cost around $1,200 in total but thats cheap compared to the transplant itself so i would highly recommend it. Shop around. The whole thing takes about 30min to do

Not to mention FUT preserves wayyyy more of your donor hair if/when you need multiple transplants. The scar is so fukking thin that it’s not even a problem for me. I know there’s other surgeons/doctors that might fuk it up but mine came out amazing.
The reason FUE is being pushed (especially in Turkey) is because you don’t need an actual doctor/surgeon to get so invasive with carving the skin out of the back of your head to harvest the grafts. Many of these new clinics are pushing FUE because they don’t wanna have a doctor required to perform FUT. There’s a reason there’s so many “FUE only” clinics but hardly any “FUT only” clinics.
Turkey offers an insane amount of grafts to be transplanted for very cheap prices because of lower standards and lack of overhead. They’ll over-harvest the fuk out of your head and say “Yea sure, we’ll do 4000-5000 grafts of FUE no problem.” And then when the patient comes home and realizes the back of their head looks fukked up is because their team was inexperienced and didn’t care that the patient didn’t have enough donor hair. By the time you get home to the US or wherever you flew in from, you’re gone by then and likely not gonna fly back to get a refund. That’s not what always happens but it’s a very common story you’ll find. My doctor at Bosley told me it would be unlikely or difficult to harvest more than 2500-3000 grafts with FUE. If he were really trying to play me and take my money, he wouldn’t have restricted me like that.
They’re pushing this lie that FUE is the NEW version and better all around. They’ll scream at you until they’re blue in the face how ”FUE HAS NO SCAR!!!” But they’ll leave out the part about how the graft survivability rate still isn’t as high as FUT and that you’ll be harvesting too much donor hair in cherry-picked areas, thus leaving you with less to work with in the event of needing a 2nd transplant.
My doctor basically cut the strip of skin and made the incisions for where the harvested hair was going to be transplanted into. The technicians were the ones using the microscopes and separating each graft very carefully from the skin. 5 technicians, 5 microscopes. And the other several technicians who insert the grafts into the incisions. It requires a significantly larger team than FUE.
You don’t know what the fuk you’re talking about. Take 3 minutes to educate yourself.
