Anyone ever look at threads from 10 years ago...

... and notice a completely different vibe? No EOD, but it just seemed like a different place.

There was always chit talking and whatnot, but it rarely looks vile. Nowadays it seems like everyone is legitimately mad and everything becomes political.

Crazy to think that 10 years ago was 20 years ago.

Just go to the very last page of Misc and read the threads from near the beginning. It was a much different atmosphere where everyone could bust each others' balls and have fun, but could also just shoot the breeze like a close group of friends hanging out.

True. I’ve never been much of a contributor to the Misc so I’m not saying I’ve done anything to stem the tide. Just seems weird how everyone is so full of anger and hate towards others when back in the day, it was a lot of banter but there was a “but he’s a Miscer so he’s one of us” mentality.

i dont check threads from the past but i do agree. Misc use to be awesome ESPECIALLY before the days when social media was weaponized. I come on here less and less because its just so lame. I understand that its not the misc i fell in love with 18 years ago and things naturally change, but chit man, new miscers are just terrible. They bring their retarded tik tok and twitter BS here liek people leaving CA going for texas but still voting liberal

Yeah I don’t really make it a habit of going through old posts and whatnot. But recently a few threads from many years back were bumped and I was like, “Whoa this is really refreshing.” Then I saw the post dates.

tbh i do think things changed with the election and the news/social media pumping derision toward anything "other than".

Misc has always been a place for redick things to be freely posted so instead of letting frustrations out on their main socials they come here to be irrational without consequence.

I also think the influx of non lifters plays a part. Lifting is associated with self improvement and positivity. Realizing there are flaws that a person would like to improve. Dieting/moderation and a schedule of working out 3-7 days a week doesn't coincide with what these weirdos who make accounts and post negative chit here all day do imo

i remember I used to mroe so many avis back in the day, and there would be frequent lifting threads, now everyone just a thumb or an eyeball avi and lifting threads get 1 reply. It's a joke
