Speaking of drug dealers, I almost had my oldest convinced that my current job was a front, and I really laundered drug money for the cartel
They would ask what I do at my desk all day, so I told them not to tell their friends, but I helped with logistics and laundering
I said, you really think I make what I do, just sitting at this desk

She asked my wife, who ruined it

The house we lived in with my mom and stepdad my junior and senior year of high school is around 6k square feet and after all the kids got grown they hated living there but it took them forever to sell it. The electricity bill even with only 2 people living in it was over $400 a month. The house my Dad lives in right now is about 3500 sq ft but the layout is great. You can pretty much close off the living room, kitchen and master suite off from the rest of it when one is visiting them. With just 2 people in the house I can't imagine needing more than 2k sq ft

I'm in a 3400 sq ft now with just 4 of us total. I do use quite of bit of that for my home gym.

However, wife and I have already talked about downsizing once the kids are gone. I want more outside space as opposed to more home.

I'm planning on moving further out in the country in a couple years and ideally I want 2500 sq ft and 5 acres. I'd be fine with less land as long as there aren't houses beside me and the landowners don't mind me target shooting on their property

Similar. In fact, there is a place for sale near me that's on 2ac's close to town that I actually love the set up. However, it is grossly overpriced at $1.4 mil. Just looked and they took it off the market after sitting for 4 months. It's a nice place, but not 1.4 mil nice, IMO.

Yep. No need for all of this once the kids are gone. And, I'm starting to hate people even more than I already do.

You don’t get much here anymore for less that $600k. We have 25acres and a smaller house but I can do whatever I want. Way rather the bush than a bigger living room.

But seriously the prices in Ontario are insane. I live within a few hours of Toronto, so real estate is bananas.

Another big storm last night, hail but a lot smaller than last months
In the past 2 weeks, I’ve had multiple yards of dirt/seed get swept away in a current of water
Looks like I’ll be shoveling more dirt this weekend

Like I said, it's grossly overpriced. Zillow says they purchased it in 2015 for $700k.

Looks like they've remodeled the house and in today's market, probably right at 950-1mil.

I've noticed that anything under $1mil get bought up pretty quickly, but anything at or over sit on the market for long periods of time.

They've taken all of the pictures down now too, so I can't really show it.

***Edit - just looked in that location again and the place across the street is now for sale for right at $1m. Don't like sharing me exact location, but will share the pics with geezer crew. Will drop the pics soon.

LOL. I forgot most places aren't fenced anywhere else. Common place here.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

What might make sense is if there was one around the pool...but it appears not.

We've got a fenced in yard and it would be hard to imagine not having one. Even if we didn't have dogs, just so used to it now. What I don't understand are those high cinderblock fences you see in the southwest.

Place we rented when we first moved to VT was like 3800 sq ft. We only used like 1/3 of it. Entry room, turned dining room into living room, master bedroom and kitchen. The two bedrooms on the opposite side we put boxes of stuff in and never really went in there again. The upstairs was huge and meant to be the living room. I used a small portion of it as my home office, and wrote off the entire square footage of the upstairs on my taxes as it technically was only used as an office. But I was paying to heat the whole damn place all winter. Fukk that.

House we bought is smaller. 1,300 square feet. But we use all of it. Just wish the bedrooms were a bit bigger. But can't beat the location and the acreage that came with it.
