ITT: Post Lesbian Traits and Tells
'Cause my gaydar may be broken.
I was working yesterday when I was approached and chatted up by another older lady. She asked about my employer, if it is a good place to work, etc.
Found out we both have worked corporate type office jobs, but prefer to be outside working with plants.
She said that she would come back when the manager is in to talk about working there and I said something like "cool, if nothing else maybe we can be friends".
I need to make some friends and I think we are roughly the same age range and both like plants and gardening. I'm thinking we could go to garden events and plant sales together kind of thing.
She replies something like "after what I've been through I don't know about that".
And I'm like-
Did she think I was making a pass at her?
So, yeah.
Stuff to do, but I will return.

But the usual flags are, dresses kinda mainly. Wears kinda boxy clothes, not the usual form fitting stuff girls wear. No make up. Smokes. Ear gages. Beanie in the summer.
Tbh I didn’t really understand her answer, but it didn’t sound like she was hinting at being a lesbian to me. Sounded like she tried to be witty but just didn’t hit the mark

I mean the most obvious tell is if a lady’s toilet is unclogged that typically indicates she’s comfortable hefting the old plungeroo and entering a to-the-death battle with her own chocolate hiney baby but you know most straight women will look down and be horrified they produced something so large and ghastly they just scream for a dude to come address it and run for the hills

I notice a lot of them are socially awkward. I sell insurance and end up dealing with a handful of lesbian couples a year and it's one thing I've picked up on. There's also a lesbian couple that lives about 5 houses down from me. They're in their late 50s-ish, we walk our dogs passed their house and vice versa and say hi occasionally. One time theirs barked (not excessively) and the one lady said "sorry sir..." She might've tried to be nice but I always think it's odd when someone noticeably older than me calls me sir.

There was a decent looking guy buying some pottery yesterday that came back over to me to ask my opinion on what he had picked out and if they "go together". I wondered if he might have some interest, but he didn't say anything else after I replied to him. And TBH it isn't that rare that people ask for opinions on the stuff they are buying or using together.
In for socially awkward. Suppose I should have mentioned specific activities instead? She moved to TX from CA within the last year or two from our conversation, so seemed like she might be looking for social connections too? Or I guess I could just hope that if she isn't hired that I might randomly see her shopping again.
