No lmao

One shot is appropriate

10 shots to execution is trigger happy

Police should be issued those dart guns that put people to sleep instantly that they use on animals

Would work better than a taser, shoot em with the dart and knock em to sleep in 10 seconds

seriously why don't they do this? Obviously, they would have to be modified so clothing etc won't stop them, but I think you're on to something here...

It's really hard for police to administer drugs like that to people - lots of legislation BS that needs to go on. Chit most departments just in the past year or two finally got to give OD'ing people narcan, which is like the most harmless and useless thing in the world. I don't see a scenario where cops will be allowed to carry dart guns with some crazy sedative in it. Would cause more harm than good.

What is really promising is stuff taser is working on. Basically a taser dart gun where you have say 6 darts that are electrified and so instead of only having two shots with the current taser 7 (shooting 4 darts total, but only two trigger pulls) you'll have 6 "shots" and they will all work in unison so you can place them in specific spots instead of getting a somewhat random spread, and if say two miss, you can keep hitting the person with more until they're disabled. Like a combo of a gun and a taser.

The issue is fitting all that into a compact package, and controlling the shock, because in theory each dart will still need to be wired/electrified and putting that all into a size similar to the current taser is hard, but I think it can be done. The taser 7 is leaps better than it's predecessor. I think something like that will save tons of lives and be exponentially better than current taser technology. It would almost be an actual short range replacement for a firearm in a lot of situations.

Yes. If you actually knew what you were talking about you'd know a taser is safer than shooting drugs into someone. Drugs (sedatives) that effect everyone differently and to be effective you'd need to use the perfect amount, too little and it's useless, too much and they're going to overdose.

Not to mention this isn't the movies and any change wouldn't be immediate.
