Here's the think about cancers- they are f*cking terminal. So is AIDS. Of Course people will screen for HIV and Cancer so they don't freaking die. We know that about those viruses/diseases. Now what do we know about covid? if you are young and healthy, your chances of dying from covid are statistically negligible. A young person is probably more likely to die in a car accident than from covid.

But yeah, like I said, your strawman are so weak. You're comparing actual terminal viruses /diseases to something that is similar to a flu for most people (or way better for a lot of people) and for a small percent of people with underlying conditions, it can wreak havoc on them. And guess what? Those people already have access to a vaccine and most likely they have taken it. Try and use some common sense buddy.

Like I said, if you have to still wear a mask and social distance, what's the point of the vaccine if I could do those same things without the shot?

I still stand by my other statements. If COVID or the vaccine is as serious as it is for EVERYONE, then these idiotic videos with nurses dancing or stupid Pfizer/Moderna vaccines wouldn't exist.

Why make light of a situation with videos like that?

And as I said, after 2020, I don't trust MSM anymore - my common sense will get me further.

MSM lost my respect when it kept telling me the Portland "protests" were peaceful, when I could clearly see otherwise.

best part is the cucks that still wearing masks BY THEMSELVES IN THE CAR. You know these idiots are already vaccinated and they're still doing this.

I know I've said it many times but there will be a small subset of the population that will be wearing masks until they die.

I wear a mask because I work with older people, so I don't care to give it to them when I go around people or large groups, not to mention Oregon is hard to not wear one with how liberal it is.

People can wear their masks in their cars, when their mowing their lawns or whatever - I think it's weird, but what do I care. It doesn't affect me.

Only issue I have had are those that get in your business trying to make you wear a mask, when it isn't needed.

Luckily, its far and in between nowadays.

I had covid last month, my pregnant gf had it at the same time. Was it fun? No. Will either of us be getting the shot?

Nope. And these libs can go fuk themselves for trying to pressure us to getting it, we’re not getting the vaccine. See you in 5 years of it’s safe; until then I’m not getting it. And i have every vaccine so I’m not anti vax, I’m anti purple haired fat people coming at me for my decisions.

yeah im not one of those obnoxious people that tells people what to do with their masks. If you want to look like an idiot and wear a mask driving by yourself or when you're on a walk please do so.

It's a bit ridiculous how we have to still wear them in businesses though even though everyone at risk in the US that wanted the vaccine is vaccinated now.

there's legit no logical/rationale reason to do so. Do they think the virus is just flying around everywhere? How would you get covid in your car by yourself?

That’s a reasonable choice IMO.

You had it already, you have some immunity.

Glad to hear it wasn’t too bad

Form day 1 I never understood it... people riding their bikes hundreds of feet away from a home and they’re alone wearing a mask...

From day 1 I never wore a mask outside except one time I went to a beer garden...

Outdoor transmission is like 1/1000 cases or something like that... and that’s if people are closer together

the best part is when you see them riding bikes or skateboarding without a helmet but wearing the mask. Going through cars and doing dumb chit without a helmet, but have a mask on.

Like dude you know how much more dangerous that is? BRB car hitting me and my head explodes in the street, but at least I had a mask on.

I was being hyperbolic to show that your statement was nonsensical.

You did not specify the degree of an infection made any difference in the validity of getting a vaccine. You just said ‘infection’, that’s it.

So now we’re at a point where what you actually meant was:

“Your immune system can fight off THIS virus if you’re healthy”

And yes, that is almost definitely true.

However, as I’ve said before, the way the vaccine works in no way implies you don’t have a strong immune system; it literally uses your immune system JUST LIKE IT WOULD BE USED AGAINST COVID.

The only difference is that, with the vaccine, the virus doesn’t enter/hijack your cells and start replicating.

That’s why COVID lasts longer than the symptoms of your immune system after getting the vaccine in almost all cases.

Covid symptoms are a combination of 1) your immune response causing fever, fatigue, etc, and 2) whatever bodily systems are damaged due to the virus invading and replicating.

So in essence with the vaccine you get to use the same strong, healthy immune system you’d otherwise use to (almost certainly) fight off the virus but you get to skip the bit where it hijacks your cells and replicates which almost always causes worse and longer lasting symptoms plus whatever additional symptoms and damage may happen due to the viral replication.

How is full-blown Covid not worse than a vaccine that just gives you ammunition against it with none of the vital infection!?

It seems like a no-brainer to me.

If you’re not afraid of Covid, why would anyone be afraid of a small component of the same virus that isn’t even going to replicate as a virus???

Someone needs to make a mask version of that sunglasses meme of the NCIS or CSI dude... where he just peels off his mask to reveal endless masks under it...

But have the dude instead be some chubby purple-haired chick with 10 facial piercings.

buddy you think you are a lot smarter than you actually are. Answer these questions:

If I get the vaccine, will I be immune from covid?
If I get the vaccine, will I be "allowed" to take my mask off in public?
If I had covid already, and beat it on my own in less than two weeks, why should I get the vaccine?
Is the vaccine FDA approved for non-emergency use?

And I'm sure you realize, "full blown covid" for millions of people is actually just being asymptomatic right? And a year later, the experts have walked back on claims of asymptomatic spread. Just like they are not realizing that covid isn't spreading from surface to surface either. It spreads like the flu. Except that the masks are apparently working for the flu (which has had the most dramatic decline in history last year) but not for covid. other cdc rules include walking into a restaurant with your mask on, but it being ok to sit down, take your mask off and eat. If you want to talk about a no brainer- why don't talk about how ridiculous the "rules" have been with covid 19.

and to answer your final question- i'm not afraid of covid nor am I afraid of the vaccine. I just don't happen to require the vaccine because i'm young, healthy and in shape. And there is a risk from covid, but there is also a risk from taking the vaccine. when you take the vaccine- you now have a risk from a bad vaccine reaction plus you are still at risk of covid. In an effort to reduce my personal risk, I am forgoing the vaccine for the time being. Good luck being part of this little science experiment. i truly hope it works out the best for you.

I’m not sure why you felt the need to comment on your impression of my intelligence. I showed you respect and did not insult you.

Your explanation of the decision makes sense and I respect it, but I don’t think the commentary on immunity or access to activities etc make any difference.

I NEVER said someone who already had Covid should feel compelled to get it, in fact I said on this same page I don’t think someone should if they had it... you might want to scroll up a bit. (Post 1193)

The vaccine doesn’t produce 100% immunity, most vaccines don’t. But I don’t see that as a reasonable argument against it either. It doesn’t need to be 100% to be a reasonable motivator.

I totally think there are reasonable arguments NOT to get it, I do. However, these silly protein ‘shedding’ and insanely exaggerated side-effect stories / deaths / insane schemes are not among them.

I think it’s stupid to make shyt up on either end, whether it is to deter people or to convince them.

A forum thread....?

I’d suggest shopping around for higher quality reporting... stuff that’s actually been validated and/or collected by an official organization not a bunch of people in their underwear typing in between sips of bud light

Sanofi the company that acquired Merial, the animal vaccine manufacturer responsible for the mad-cow disease outbreak in the UK back in 2007, has been providing the facilities and infrastructure for BioNTech + Pfizer to produce its covid-19 vaccines.

When did I ever say someone shouldn’t fact check me?

I encourage everyone to go and read the actual data.

This forum or any other should NOT be the sole source of info

I can tell you this much, that forum has a lot more legitimate information than the fuking misc. lmao.
That is probably true in it’s likely better than the misc

It’s hard for me to address all of your concerns I guess because I don’t know which ones you’re commenting on... but as far as deaths are concerned, I haven’t seen data to suggest the rate of vaccine-related deaths are high/common by any standard.

I did read about cases of myocarditis in something like .0125% of vaccinated people in a small cohort... but I’m also not sure what the general rate of that is in the overall population...

The deaths that are being reported aren’t reported as being caused BY the vaccine, it’s simply that - in the vaccinated population - a certain of people died... and the number is small. So, if we vaccinate millions of people, then of course some number of them with die from a variety of causes... I haven’t need evidence that one caused the other though.
