anyone else that works from home and finding

while its cool you have the ease of everything . can have the tv on in front of you turned down low, dont have to make the morning commute and spend money on gas, can easily prepare lunches for the day etc etc but also find you are missing the structure of getting up, shower, some floor work if you do it, dressing up nice and heading out into the world being around people, socializing at the work place with others.

im thankful to just have a job and work from home vs the office both have their pros and cons but im finding my self missing going to work.

i use to think working from home permanently would be great but i miss the structure of the daily routine.

Only thing I miss is the socializing and free catered lunches. Other than that, I'm good right where I am. I hit the gym every morning at 5am get my social time in there.

I'm in FL and my company's HQ is in NC, so I will always work from home 100% of the time. I'm in upper management.

They just started returning to the office today and I quote my buddy who sent this to me last night:
"Ill be honest I am excited to see everyone tomorrow but not at all excited for setting my alarm an hour and a half earlier and the roughly 2 hours + I will lose in the commute"

Sorry bud, but the lazy fat azz americans working from home the last year really arent a shining beacon of productivitiy lmfao. For the same amount of producitivty output mine as well keep a few higher level managers on US soil and outsource the pleebs.

worked from home a few times and find it hard as fuk to concentrate. legit almost just drove in so there would be less distractions

reminds me of my college days having trouble focusing and putting off work (procrastinating)

I dont have the same problem physically at work. I dont really goof off on work computers or do much internet surfing/shopping ect on them


Also introvert but much rather just talk in person to solve issues than remotely on email ect. Also for any new job where you have to learn the ropes i consider it essential to be around the others to learn from them, you might not know what questions to even ask but learn things in passing. Probably because im an introvert i learn by observing/listening a lot and cant do that from home.

I find it harder to concentrate. Also, I really liked the in person collaboration at work. I am too easily distracted. I kind of relied on folks walking into my office discussing topics.

yeah and you have the comradery at the work place. thats assuming you are part of a good team and working with people who take their job serious. thats the part i miss the most.

Yeah, I do miss going to the office. I look at the clothes hanging on my clothing rack, all the dress-shirts and dress-pants that I haven't worn in over a year. It really hits me.

Working from home has really disrupted my sleep schedule. I used to go to bed before midnight and wake up around 5-6 AM. Working from home, I find myself staying up until 2-3 AM and waking up around 10-11AM. I just feel totally useless, like a sloth, with that sleep schedule.

My current PT gig is WFH. It's nice and all, but now I associate my room with work so it's harder to relax after I finish working. I'd rather just have an easy commute.

anyone else that works from home not yet bought an office chair or find them self sitting in a chair that has their back at a +10 on the pain skill by end of shift?

im for sure going to invest in an officer chair when i get my other more important monetary priorities in order

Also struggling with the fact that I just retired from the military. Basically 25 years being in charge, part of a team, structure. Now I am a nobody, from home, no team, nothing. It's a chitty transition.

I was home for a year, but I am back at the office now. Strangely enough, I am enjoying being back and I now believe this daily structure is needed to keep you motivated in life.

I was actually provided a pay raise, a company phone, my own office w/an assistant and my own hours. In addition, I retained my second station to continue working at home when needed.

I do not have single complaint...

My office is in the Tokyo bay area I really missed the view of the water from the daily commuter train.

I bought a decent enough game chair two months later my WFH started last March. But still get stiff lower back everyday. 1 hour lunchtime jogging isn't enough it seems.

My office is in Tokyo, so at least a few more months WFH is inevitable.

commuting to do a job you can do just as well at home is utterly pointless and a waste of time and money

would be happy to go back in 1 day every week or so just to touch base and catch up with people IRL and to socialize
