Came on just to post Newton.

Guttenberg deserves a massive amount of praise for revolutionizing communication for his time.

Jesus for the perspective that, regardless of beliefs, he unites (and interestingly also divides) BILLIONS of people across the world.

It feels wrong giving it to a single human. All of our knowledge compounds. Of course the true pioneers' names are lost to history.

With that said, I'd go with Antoni van Leeuwenhoek or Isaac Newton.

You're not fooling anyone. The fact you said he was a hippie shows that you're either being dishonest for whatever reason or simply lack of knowledge on the subject

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword." Really basic stuff.

I have no reason to be dishonest about a topic like this. And I don’t lack knowledge about who Jesus was. I just simply think that what Isaac Newton accomplished/discovered was more impressive than what Jesus said/did. If you or anyone else can’t accept that answer then idk what to tell you.

Isaac Newton also had some wild views about alchemy but I don’t hold that against him since his discoveries outweighed his failures by a long shot.

And yea I can see why a lot of people would believe in a single creator or simulation. The same way I can see why people used to think the world was flat. Just because something seems a certain way doesn’t mean that it is.

When it comes to the age old question of “Why is there something rather than nothing?” This is the best answer I could find.

Philosopher Stephen Law has said the question may not need answering, as it is attempting to answer a question that is outside a spatio-temporal setting, from within a spatio-temporal setting. He compares the question to asking "what is north of the North Pole?"

Basically the world/universe has no beginning or end. It just always was. The reason why we have trouble wrapping our heads around that concept is because to us, everything has a beginning and an end. “Time” is a man-made concept used to measure events that unfold.

The real Jesus didn't. He was a backwoods megalomaniac lunatic like Joseph Smith or David Koresh.

The Jesus myth created by the Roman Catholic church, backed by Medieval Monarchies, and used to propagate genocides over the last 2k years, yes.

I find it to be both sad and hilarious that he most likely died a virgin according to most scholarly sources.

Most impactful, important, forever taught about. Definitely Jesus. Even if you say he didn't do a lot, whatever he did do had an outsized impact due to his followers.
Muhammad would be second. Probably more impactful in terms of what he did during life, but the lasting impact isn't as big (right now) as Jesus'.
