What has happened to the misc

I’m sure this question pops up from time to time, but I’ve been a member here since June of 2013. There were a ton of new posts daily, and people were really active.

I think what happened was the misc was unable to adapt, and also every time you post majority of the response are insults.

Will always be on the misc though, you guys already fcked my mind up (srs)

I've already said it a bunch of times there was a shift in 2012 and 2015

This place really hasn't been like the og misc since 2011-2012

I used to browse the Misc back from 2009-2015 or so. Perhaps the shift to mobile devices is having an effect on the frequency and number of new posts. This format works best from a PC.

Message boards in general aren’t as popular as they once were. Instagram and Tik Tok offer a bombardment of colorful imagery and THOTs.

The conversation now dwells mostly on incels, cuckoldry and femoids rather than stuff like Zyzz, Jason Genova, etc.

Misc isn't addictive enough to retain its audience.

Most misc users have swapped to stronger substances such as Instagram and Reddit

The "shift" was big tech taking over the internet not some convoluded theory about a different timeline.

Unlikely there was a tineline shift but how do you explain the misc completely changing in 2015?

It was much more entertaining back when I was first perusing the misc, which mind you was a bit before I actually joined, so 2009 or so. Now it's all vaccine ignorance, covid, penis size, foreskin, and race bait threads. Currently working on my own exit strategy. It's almost not worth posting here anymore, it's like a deja vu/broken record experience on a daily basis. There's a lot of particularly stupid, black and white, tribal posters here that exhibit the worst kind of human behaviour.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*

Like I said, big tech took over the internet. ********, Google, Twitter, Reddit, Discord the misc is a dying forum. Most young people in their late teens early 20s wont come to a web 1.0 forum for their bodybuilding advice anymore they will watch their favorite youtuber or instagram star or follow them on tiktok. Get with the times *******. Your "shift" mantra is just cope for your inability to adjust to the world changing.

That's kind of why I like it though. Everywhere else you look you've got 50 different millenial platforms, tik tok, instagram, snapchat, discord (in a sense), etc. This is the only place that really hasn't changed in 2 decades. It's nostalgic in a sense and I enjoy it. Brings true meaning to "never change misc".

Hmm I think more so miscers went to Reddit, not Instagram because Instagram isn’t a forum, you don’t open threads on there.
