I’ll be rooting for you guys. I think in this post covid world it would make more sense to see planet fitness and equinox to triumph over 24 hour and LA fitness. PF is cheap enough and woke to attract all the bottom feeding homos to keep a strong business going. Equinox will always have its niche demographic of ultra wealthy or people who at least want to appear that way.

24hr and LA will struggle because they grew too aggressively (and shut down massive amounts of locations permanently during covid), and had a strong demo of people who would be more likely to setup home gyms or make a change to something cheaper like PF or step it up to Equinox.

Personal story. When I was still in DTLA I really wanted an açaí bowl and found a little juice bar a couple blocks away. I ventured over and found out it was inside an equinox that I had ko idea was even there. Anyways, I’m just in the lobby (where the juice bar is ) and I felt so out of fukking place it was ridiculous. Even in work out clothes these people looked loaded af lol.

I'll wait for a DA to see if big buyers actually come, don't really care about stocktwit morons who thought this would be stripe or rivian.

CNBC is saying 22x current EBITDA is the valuation being sought (7B). Which is lower than Planet Fitness is currently trading at fwiw.

The way they carried themselves, and overall appearance. Just beautiful, overly confident, well dressed people I guess. Hard to describe. And here's the thing, in LA there are soooooo many phonies, and far more often than not you can sniff them out fairly easily. I did NOT pick up on any of the people I saw. And the vibe was nothing like any of the gyms I've been to out here (24hr, golds, LA fitness, etc). Really hard to describe.

I did buy more warrants at $2. Sounds like this company makes bank in non pandemic years. I don't see why I wouldn't want in. This might suck if nothing happens before June and my calls go bye-bye.

I've got 500 TBCPU I'm considering selling for a loss to either buy IPOF commons or potentially warrants. Just trying to decide what my risk tolerance is and if I think the Thunder bridge gang can find a solid target themselves.

EDIT: TF THBR still hasn't merged?!?

I like the fact that 90% of the reddit community doesn't like it. Seems like the companies they don't like do the best. UTZ, MUDS, PLBY. They are kinda boring companies, but at least they are successful. I am hoping payoneer turns out that way too.

I'm so annoyed. I was holding a lot of ASPL and they were originally rumored to be contender to take HONEST public. They decided to go IPO route instead and yeah huge upswing opening day and 2.2B valuation which IMO isn't great for shareholders. You just know if it went SPAC route though it would probably have a 2B or so valuation and would crater on merger day.

Add in TTCF, the microwaved cauliflower dinner company to the list. I remember the selloff on Tattoo Chef being huge in FMCI because everyone on reddit convinced themselves it was going to be impossible.

I bought BFLY at $18 and the bags are just getting heavier. I thought I was getting a bargain from its ATH at $27. Its just a continuation of pain.

The one SPAC I have real high conviction is in SFT. It's under valued and I think the company will do well long term. Holding 2.5k shares.

Lulz people are horrified about this rumor. July 10C dropped 50% today. Needless to say I scooped a fair amount today at $35 /contract. It’s almost entirely a big gamble, but I like my odds. I’ve got a position size about 10% of yours just with a significantly shorter timeframe and my strike is $10

Imagine if it just turns out to be a rumor and nothing more lol. The language in the bloomberg article isn't as strong as most of the "in talks" articles in that it doesn't say that they are currently engaged in negotiations it just says "have held talks", also it doesn't align with anything that Chamath usually talks about being important to him. Either way I guess we'll see what happens.

Definitely seemed more iffy. I’m just hoping something happens before June rolls around. But truthfully my position can’t really decay too much more so it’s kinda whatever. Just need a solid deal with a promising valuation.

I’ve never seen calls this cheap though. IV <20 so I’m guessing that mostly means institutional money is very bearish. I hope someone somewhere helps me punish the fool who sold me these FDs

Welp new day new post:

Heaney how you feelin bruv? -66% prob wasn't that fun this morning. I've got more July calls lined up w/ lowball offer in place, BUUUUUUUUUUUUT I noticed someone dropped a 1,000 buy on the 7/21 10C @$30 ala $30k buy order. 2m volume @$10.10 for the commons which is fairly significant. Hopefully there is some institutional interest in addition to retail.

Also, I am just remembering how many Canadian pension funds used to have huge SPAC holdings. Hopefully your teachers up there are still going to be able to retire ayy lmao

It may be a sign of some sort of mental illness but honestly I'm fine. I'm not leveraged so its just lost gains at the end of the day. I'm more bummed about golf courses being closed tbh

So long as you don't have a pension you are anticipating cashing in at some point

Yeah paper losses don't really phase me these days, but I haven't crossed major milestones going the wrong way so I hope I'm as chill as you if/when my positions turn on me

I remember when I first started trading last year I bought Amazon before their earnings and lost (paper loss) 1000 dollars in one day and honestly felt like that was an insurmountable loss haha.

Hindenburg released a short report on PureCycle, seems like their weakest spac one yet and is more just personal attacks against the sponsors and not much real substance against the actual company.

Actual companies are doing quite well when they transition from spac to business ticker, its almost inversed on how no revenue tech and ev react after merger.

Wasn't the whole point of spacs to get in early and ride that big run up to a DA before dumping shortly after? I haven't seen any like that in the past couple months but again, I also haven't really been paying too much attention to spacs so idk. IPOF should've been an easy 2x bagger in previous spac market conditions no? Not gonna lie I'd be ****ting balls holding warrants at ur price. You think they have potential to climb back up given Chamath finds a solid company?

What's the point of "****ting balls"? Its just house money and warrants are good for 5yrs. Even if it is Equinox at a 7B valuation my warrants would be ITM if they returned to their pre covid valuation which is likely to happen within that time. Plus like I said before, this was my dicking around money, I have a retirement fund for my long term stuff.
