i bought 5k worth of btc back in november. then solid it 2 weeks later on (what i thought, relative to its previous movements) was a big selloff

i dont look at the graph anymore because it makes me cry. you can barely make out the dip where i sold, its so small

i sold because i never truly believed in it. it just seemed like something which was probably gonna go up. you need conviction to hold any kind of volatile asset, which i didn't have

Don't dwell on the past its not good for mental health.

Friend of mine 2010 mined BTC with gtx 480 for few years had 500 BTC that he sold 2014 when BTC popped to $350.

Imagine he just stored it on some hard drive till now...

I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time; never. These allegations are false. And I need to go back to work for the American people. Thank you.

look at index funds first safest option

good site to research

https://etfdb.com/

if you're interested in actual stocks depends on what time frame long term 1+ year or you want to make money now 2 months from now ?

Well I never go out and have zero debt. So I feel like I should invest in something.

So I'm kind of new to this whole being independent thing. I turn 28 here shortly, but I was living at home since 26 and some change just raking up money. I moved away and have a career that the future looks promising. No debt at all and make about 80k now. I rent a pretty nice apartment, but specifically where I live it's on the rise with buying a house.

So I kind of want to continue to rent for at least two years to see what happens with that. I'm also in the military so I might get promoted sometime in a year so I'm also waiting to see what happens with that as well. So I'm planning on at least a year.

Yeh index funds / mutual funds etc are a great way to get your fees wet, I was in mutual funds for five years before buying individual stocks. Read the reports that come in, do your own research, learn as you go without taking on crazy risk at the front end

Yeah I wasn't planning on dumping $50k. That is just how much I'm comfortably put into markets.

you didn't answer what time frame, assuming you're very green to investing.

if you can't research and understand what you're investing in than you shouldn't be buying individual stocks.

so just find good index fund up there in that link. there is million combos on that site to help you screen to find correct one, usually anything that is big is safest play.

yeah the response was bad. Especially when apparently it's standard for treadmills to have a "safety bar" on the under side that shuts it off if something gets sucked under.

I don't know how to feel about peloton as a product anymore. I fell in love with the bike almost a year ago now and ride every day. BUT, I find myself doing my own workouts with the classes on mute while I watch CNBC in the morning. Without the classes I'm really just left with the challenges/badges? So basically farmville for fukkin exercising?

for your time, my favoriteinstructors
