People don't address this as a broad topic. They only deal with it when it affects them personally. I.e. a couple that can't conceive or whatever.
Then they go to their nearest white coat and get drugs / weird science type fertilization etc.
I did bring this up with my wife before we had our first kid. I mean, we don't have issues, I'll pull out late and she'll get pregnant. But, yeah, I went through the whole spiel with her on plastics, birth control / hormone manipulation. Years before we had any kids. She hasn't taken BC in ten years. She was on depo shot when I met her and it had nasty sides. That's how the conversation started. Mostly, I was trying to get her aware for our children so she would think about these environmental disruptions with respect to what our kids are exposed to. At this point, it's up to the individual parents to be aware. She was completely clueless.

It's in our own hands only. No regulations or future laws / regs / developments will do anything to help.
In my case, I educated my wife and now we can do our best to protect our sons with our own choices. Natty foods, natty water, minimal medication possible. Glass for food storage. Sunlight, fresh air, etc.
If I influence my sons properly they can pass it on. Only way.

Most dudes don't want kids until they're 30+ and young men are mentally maturing later in life. Tons of people living with their parents into their 30s doesn't help their prospects. And most women won't date men that make less money than they do. Not all, but most. Meanwhile women under 30 on average make more money than men under 30. Bad combination. Besides the cultural chit, how about the fact that it's so damn expensive to raise these little chits nowadays? You basically need two incomes for most families to survive in a major metro area. 1/3 of paycheck goes towards taxes, probably the wife's remaining paycheck goes toward childcare/general expenses (unless she has a real job - i.e. not a receptionist/barista like most women), 1/3 of husband's paycheck goes toward housing/cars/other necessities. i think if society encouraged people (especially women) to date with the intention of getting married starting from 18 and shamed "casual dating" into your late 20s/30s, this would fix these issues.
look how many people waste time in 5 year relationships (situationships) with no engagement plans. 5 years is a long time to waste, women only have like 10 years of quality adult fertility.
the cost of living excuse is kinda overrated because women still have kids but they choose to be single mamas these days, even though they would save money if they just chose better manandstopped leaving men so much and co-operated with men (women break up over 80% of relationships).
so you can't blame cost of living when they are choosing to raise children in the most expensive way possible (on 1 single mama income), it's a cultural issue where people (women mostly) are not being encouraged to form stable homes as soon as possible.
tldr:the reasons are moreso cultural, rather than financial or due to messed up hormones. people simply do not prioritize finding a life partner and forming stable homes anymore, or they do when it's too late and the woman's fertility window is just about shut.
